Substantially less sleep after nightweaning

I nightweaned my 27-month-old about a month ago. When she used to nurse at night, she nursed every 1-2 hours and then from 4:30 am till she woke for the day a couple of hours later. She would sleep between 12-13 hours in a 24-hr period (she frequently refused to nap but would make it up in nighttime sleep).

Now that she is nightweaned, she only sleeps maybe 11 to 11 1/2 hours at night and REFUSES to take a nap. I've tried earlier naptimes, later naptimes, and neither works. I nurse her in a dark room with white noise, and we have relaxing storytime beforehand. Her naps when she took them were very short (no more than 45 minutes), but that would make up for her current sleep deficit at night.

I know her current amount of sleep is insufficient, as she is miserable the final couple hours of her day. I put her down early (i.e. 6:00) hoping she'll get more sleep that way, but she's just up for the day before 5:30.

Help! Is this common after night-weaning? Does it last long? I feel horrible guilt because I feel resentful towards her when she wakes too early and refuses to nap. I nightweaned specifically to stop these feelings of resentment.

We recently nightweaned, and haven't noticed any changes in naps. I know all kids are different, but that actually sounds like a lot of sleep to me. My 19mo gets about 10 hrs and night, and 1.5-2 during the day. Maybe you could try to put her down slightly later (less nighttime sleep) and see if she is more tired by naptime to redistribute some of the total sleeping hours to daytime?
