OK. I admit it, I love swiffers. I love the way they glide easily on your hardwood. Though I have been using washable pads from the $ store for dry for a while, I hadn't been able to use them wet (the microfibre kind of stuck to the floor!). We had been buying the swiffer wet pads (not wetjet). And I had been feeling guilty.
The grippy teeth are also gone on mine so I sewed up some fleece pads that slip onto the head (one pocket on each end). Took all of 20 secs to sew.
They work really well dry, but I can also just run them under the tap and they are *awesome*. I can also spray vinegar and water on the floor and use it like a wetjet.
I totally recommend doing this. If the teeth on your swiffer aren't shot you could even just cut rectangles!
My floors are soooo clean - dare I say even cleaner than with the swiffer wet pads because there is no chemical residue!!
