Leaving Nursing Toddler & Increased Demand

I was recently at a training in Portland for a week. My husband and son came along and I saw them only at night. They also left to visit family for a couple of nights. Upon their return, my son is more demanding and wants to nurse more frequently. He is 20 months old and at 16 months I left for a couple of nights and never experienced this. Has anyone else had a similar situation? While I am an advocate of baby-led weaning, I am starting to feel a need to provide more limitations around nursing.

My guess would be that your supply has decreased some & dc is responding by increasing the nursing to increase your supply.

Ime with ds when I've left him (I left him for 2 weeks this summer) after a few days he settled back into a more normal schedule again.
