For the last week, my tongue has been sore. Yesterday it started getting bad. Really bad.
A little background- We've been battling a virus for about 2-3 weeks now. Both DDs and I had it- the works- pink eye and a horrible cold, though I only got the respiratory part of it (and tonsilitis). My 2yo had pneumonia. So we were some sick puppies here. My DH as usual never gets sick despite eating junk foods and other things that you wouldn't think would have caused him to have a ridiculously strong immune system!
So back to my tongue. It feels like I pulled my tongue muscle
It hurts the biggest, meatiest part of my tongue, near the center, but more towards the back of my mouth. The sides also hurt.
It hurts so bad to swallow and maneuver food around I can hardly eat. Talking is a bit better because I don't use my tongue as heavily for that.. but ouch!! I want to cry every time I have to move my tongue!
I was first wondering if it could be a symptom from my tonsilitis. But my tonsils don't hurt. I was then wondering if my incoming wisdom teeth (well, already here, not impacted, but still growing) have anything to do with the matter.
Guidance would be highly appreciated! I don't want to have to go to the doctor- though I know I probably should since I'm beginning to want to just curl up in a ball and nurse the baby under a blanket.
