What has been your highest SA dose to bowel tolerance? - Page 2

From personal experience--and of course I can't quantify it--when DS was little and exclusively nursing, if I took a lot of SA when he was sick, his cold symptoms would be significantly reduced, to the point that I never had to use the nose-sucker bulb like I did with DD (I've forgotten the name of that thing). He slept at night when he was sick, it was very manageable. We had several colds (>3, probably <10) before he started solids. After he started solids, I found he needed more and he needed it directly, but extra vitC does transfer through to breastmilk at least to some extent.

Maybe possibly an issue for a baby being fed formula? Just a guess there.

I give my nurslings vitamin c (usually the sodium ascorbate version because it is less sour and mixes perfectly fine in breast milk or water - virtually no taste) orally when they are showing signs of little colds. Never had a problem....never even had to get them to tolerance...though with bf babies it is hard to tell when tolerance is (if they are not on solids) anyway. LOL Worked like a charm.
