Never mind....

epo and flaxseed, at least

Guaifenesin - the active ingredient in Robitussin - can thin the mucus. You can use any decongestant with it, just make sure that is the only ingredient. Also, increasing your water intake will thin the mucus. Lubricant is also a good way to conteract the thickness, but you need to use one that is sperm-friendly (the only one I know of is Pre-Seed). HTH!

im sorry you have been struggling with this. here are a couple other things- i've always heard baby carrots, btw, dont know if there's a difference. you might try:.

*green tea, even better with lemon, do not take with milk
*avoid dairy around fertile time
*avoid caffeine
*avoid antihistamines
*use robitussin (guaifenesin) or mucinex at the recommended dose around fertile window
*tart drinks- grapefruit juice is the one most often recommended, unsweetened, also lemonade (maybe) and cranberry juice (that's not too sweet- maybe)
*evening primrose oil
*a supplement called Fertile CM- a lot of women swear by it
*TONS OF WATER
*for some women, low dose soy isoflavones increases cm (40-80 mg)

i have tried all these but the epo and the Fertile CM. all the rest did offer me some improvement.

the other thing i think worth mentioning is pre-seed. have you tried it? it's $20/tube, but worth every penny and it lasts a loooong time. you do not have to use it in the quantity they suggest, just enough to do the trick. it is not a substitute for cm, mainly because it's not up in the cervix, but if you have very little cm despite trying all the tips above, and your vag is dry and therefor hostile to sperm as far as pH etc, pre-seed can only help. it is also just a great lube. only thing i dont like about it is, once you start using it, it's hard to read your cm. but if you know you are in the fertile window anyway, that doesnt really matter- it's more important at that time to support the sperm than check cm! you can get it at most cvs and walgreens, or online.

I do the green tea and EPO. They do wonders. This cycle and one that I got pregnant in I used Preseed. I will second that its main drawback is that it makes it very difficult to read your own cm after that.

Doesn't green tea also have caffeine, though? I am trying to avoid caffeine because I know I will not conceive easily, if at all. So need to do anything I can...

You can buy caffeine free green tea. I dont bother because it doesnt have that much caffeine to begin with.

I too strongly recommend guaifenesin at the recommended dose around fertile window, it can be found at robitussin or mucinex, just make sure it is listed as the only ingridient..It works superbally -- within minutes of taking it

I'd suggest Yogi brand or anyother organic Red raspberrly Leaf and Red clover tea, every day at least 2-3 times a day until ovulation (after it red raspberry leaf can create contractions not good until later in pregancy) They really worked for me in easing all kinds of pains I was feeling around ovulation, and that's a great bonus thing.

Karmab,

While it is true that dairy products do thicken your mucus (as a long sinus sufferer I can testify to that), I read that while TTC one is encouraged to have whole fat yogurt/milk daiyr products and than switch to fat free for the rest of preg.

also, you MUST drink water like water supply is going to dissapear..for green tea to work, (a dehydrater) or guaifenesin (helps it) or anything else, water is crucial. Water intake would thin out secretions or help things moving.
