I read somewhere that the Carden Method is a mashup of Charlotte Mason and Waldorf. So of course I had to Google it!

I found the Carden Educational Foundation, which has very pretty website that tells me nothing about the teaching methods or the curriculum. Apparently there's some sort of special phonics instruction? Also "rhythmic reading", which sounds like reading aloud as a group and practicing (there's a word for this but I can't remember it!) making it sound like conversational speech. And there's an emphasis on learning about art and French. That's really all I can gather.

But to order from them, you first have to sign a license agreement and attend Carden Method training. And it says on their website that if you don't see a seminar near you, contact them and they'll be happy to send an instructor to you! If that's true it must be majorly $$$$$. (Well, I think I read that but now I can't find it again on the site!)

So, do you know anything about the Carden Method?
