headache from zoloft?

i skimmed over and then threw away the patient info sheet when i picked up my rx the other week. i've had a headache almost constantly, am on 50mg of zoloft. is headache a common side-effect, and if so does it go away after several weeks?

Very common side effect. Mine went away after about 2 weeks, maybe less, each time that I've been on Zoloft(I think I've started/restarted it a total of 3 or 4 times).

It sucks, to say the least, but it should go away.

I had a headache for a few weeks also, off and on again, but it finally went away (seems to be anyway, and I"ve up'd the dose since then also)

Same here. It went away after a few days.

My dd gets one if she doesn't take it at the same time every day, too.

so a couple more days and i *should* be good, it sounds like. here's hoping. thanks for the info. i am also correct that i can NOT take ibuprofen, just tylenol for the headache, right? i remember somehting about increased bleeding risk i think.

I've never been told that. I take ibuprofen with my zoloft. Unless you have some other sort of condition that would contraindicate taking ibuprofen, of course...maybe call your doc to ask about it?

Totally normal as far as the headache, and I took ibuprofen with it all the time, my pharmacist and my doctor said it was fine. For a fact, after ds2 was born, I was on 50 mgs of zoloft and taking 800 mg 4 times a day after my c-section.
