When did your LO's go to one nap a day?

My DS is almost 10 months and it seems like we have already entered into 1 nap/day, I thought it was too early for that so I'm wondering when everyone elses LO's went to one nap. Thanks!

My Sweetie B transitioned from 2 to 1 naps between 11 and 13 months. When I noticed that his naps were getting too long for him to sleep well at night, I pushed the transition by giving him a morning snack that would give him energy to get past the morning slump--for him, cottage cheese or yogurt. His morning and afternoon naps got pushed into one midday nap, and now at almost 2.5, he has one long afternoon nap. So I wouldn't say your little one is too early to go to one nap! Depends on the sweet child him/herself!
We also have Baby G, who at 10 months does 2 or sometimes 3 naps per day, but they are all fairly short, so she still does okay on that schedule.
Good luck!

DS transitioned to one nap between 9 and 10 months, DD transitioned to one nap between 10 and 11 months.

9 months, and there was no arguing it - DD was just ready for one nap a day.

10 months for DS

DD still takes 2 naps at 10 months, but they're usually only about 40 minutes long. I wonder if this has an affect on nap transitions--meaning will she need those 2 naps for longer than most babies, or will she end up with a longer nap once a day?

Anyone have a short napper transition to one nap?

My DD is 12mo and is pretty much down to 1 nap per day now. She started the transition around 11mo and it's slowly moved that way.

Thankfully, my 16mo DS still takes two good naps a day and doesn't look to change it anytime soon . I'm thankful since I am 8wks pregnant and can use the extra rest and quiet time!

My LO is almost 11 months old and has just made the leap to one nap a day, but honestly I think he's been ready for it/transitioning for the past few weeks and I was just too attached to the 2 nap routine to attend to the signs. But these were the signs: 1) he fought his naps big-time--he just wasn't sleepy anymore two hours after waking up even though I would keep trying to get him to nap. 2) his second nap was always too late in the day and this would make bed time a huge battle and/or really late.

Now that he has gone to 1 nap a day its actually much better and really he sleeps just as much (about 2 or 2 and a half hours) in total as he did before, only now its in one big chunk instead of two smaller ones. And he goes down for the nap (about 12:30 or 1pm) and goes to bed at 8:30 without a fuss. I thought I had longer with 2 naps, but now that I've adjusted my mental expectation about it, I'm happy with the new schedule.

I'd really let your LOs mood help you decide--are they happy with 1 nap or do they get cranky?

Mines so far has pretty much alwasy been a one nap baby.. She sleeps at night alwasy has and takes one good solid morning nap but while shes kinda winds down for a period in the afternoon (I put her in the bassinett of her pack N play and she jsut coos and plays for around 1 hour and maybe sleeps 5 mintues of it.) she wont outright sleep.
She goes to bed around 7pm though so it works out well for us.

I'm so glad you posted this question. I was going to post the same. My DS is 10.5 months and it can be really hard to get him to take two naps a day. I was wondering what the signs were for going down to one nap a day. When are they ready? Thanks for asking the question, I'll look forward to the responses.
