Surrogacy and Homebirth

Not sure where else to post this...MDC doesn't have a section for surrogacy. Here's my question...I'm considering becoming a gestational surrogate (carrying someone else's baby not genetically related to me), but I'd really like to have a homebirth or birth center birth. I know this is possible because my midwife has attended surrogate homebirths before. I'm a little overweight, so a lot of agencies won't take me (despite the fact that I had a complication free pregnancy and delivery), but I found one that will. The problem is that the surrogacy contract requires the birth to take place in a hospital with a Level II NICU "just in case" and the case worker wasn't very supportive when I mentioned that I'd like prenatal care to be with my midwife and not an OB/GYN.

Does anyone know of any surrogacy agencies that support homebirth/birth center? Weight doesn't matter. That's what dieting, WiiFit, and treadmills are for. I've asked my midwife but haven't heard anything.

not sure if this is really possible but you might want to place an add some where and try to do it without an agency- that way you and the couple can work with whoever thier reproductive endocronologist is and you can work out the surrogacy details between the 3 of you!

How about going through a surrogacy lawyer instead of an agency?
