Our 9 yo DD has an abscessed tooth. We've already gone to the ER and had it lanced and drained and she got antibiotics. Thank goodness for military and tricare--no having to think about what the trip to the ER is going to cost us, especially because they had to call a dentist in to treat her and for her prescriptions. However, we are going to have to follow up with her civilian dentist. It is a "baby" tooth, but she wasn't expected to lose it for a few more years. We can do either a root canal or have it extracted. I'm voting extraction and so is DH. If it was a permanent tooth, we might consider trying to save it. I'm dreading to see the dental bill, though.
