Who else is still nursing? How is it going?

This will be the third pregnancy that I've nursed through and tandem nursed after. That is IF my 20 month old DD hangs in there. She has only latched on a few times a day the past 3 days and not really nursed at all! I'm guessing it must taste funny. It's weird to think she may wean so early. My others weaned at 3+ years. I've been nursing constantly since my oldest was born (6 years in December.) I'm not sure if I would be sad if DD weans now.

I'm still nursing but I don't think I can tandem nurse. He hasn't really made any changes so far in his nursing habits but he sometimes acts like it tastes a little funny.

I'm still nursing and would love to tandem nurse. I havent noticed change in supply yet. DD is really a boobie addict so I hope she keeps up with it. I want to do child led weaning and a part of me would be sad if that was sped up because of pregnancy.

I am nursing my 28 month old. So far, so good. I am sore but having him open wider seems to help, and once the milk starts flowing it's all right. DS1 weaned at 30 months when I was abouy 6-7 months pregnant, it was kind of a mutual thing - I didn't actively try to wean him but I did set some limits as it got really painful, and he gradually grew away from it. I would be mostly okay if that happened again (sad, but okay, too)

I'm nursing my 17 month old and nothing has really changed for him in my pregnancy; no funny taste reactions or anything like that. I'm planning on tandem nursing as long as my 17 month old doesn't wean himself before then - which I don't see any reason at this point to think he would.

I'm nursing my 27 month old, and so far, no issue - no sore breasts, even! I'm not sure what the milk supply is like, but he nurses four times a day and seems to still enjoy it and get milk, so that's good. I'm not going to change things unless I start to feel uncomfortable or annoyed with it. It's sucha great parenting tool and I love the connection we get in our busy day. I am going away for 8 days in January with my mom and sisters (US virgin islands to lie on a beach) I'm wondering about if he'll wean then. I'm more nervous about being away from him for that long (I've only even left him once overnight) than I am about the thought of him weaning. We'll see how it goes. Glad to see there are quite a few mamas in this DDC who are nursing through pregnancy. It will be nice to have some company in the regard.

I'm nursing my 13 month old dd. My ds nursed until the month before dd arrived at 2.5. DD doesn't show any signs of stopping however I can tell that I am not producing like I used to. I hope she doesn't stop. I would be happy to tandem nurse.

I'm still nursing my 20 month old. She loves her milk. She asks to nurse constantly. I haven't noticed her having any reactions to taste, but I do wonder about supply since all I hear is a constant litany of "more milk. more milk."

Luckily, my breasts aren't tender at all. They are a bit sensitive in that I can't stand her doing anything other than nursing: tweaking, touching, holding, licking, brushing, patting, and anything else she thinks is fun.

Still nursing 20mo DS, but I really don't want to tandem, so I'm hoping DS weans on his own before baby gets here. No changes in supply yet. DS seems to think it still tastes fine. We are also co sleeping (1/2 the night), and I really don't want to be co-sleeping and tandem. I already have a hard time getting back to sleep after being awoken by DS, so having to deal with nursing two at night, I feel like I probably wouldn't ever sleep. Any tips on gentle weaning?!

I am still nursing my nearly 3yr old DD (Hana). Even before I got the BFP I was wanting to wean her but she is super needy for her "boobie milk". With my older DD I was pregnant from the time she was 2yrs 3 mths so by the end of my pregnancy with Hana she had weaned- very gradually and slowly. I love our nursing but it kind of burns me out. I'm hoping she weans during this pregnancy as I can't imagine tandem nursing. If she suddenly found that I had this huge supply she'd be attached 24x7. I LOVE the nursing relationship we've had up to now but I think it's the touching and twiddling that puts me over the edge and I don't want that special time to be mommy being a grump.

I am still nursing my 17 mo DS2. No nipple soreness, so yeah for that! With DS1, during DS2's pregnancy I started getting the creepy crawly feeling around six or seven months and nipple soreness around then, too. I was just commenting to DH that with this third unplanned pregnancy, I will have like a huge nursing streak, because I've already been nursing straight for almost four years, and I assume I can add another three or four now!!

DS (18.5)keeps going in phases. He's gone a while 5 days without nursing, then wants to nurse all night. I'm a SAHM too, so it's not like he doesn't have 24/7 access! I've only been mildly nauseated so far, but I know my morning sickness is going to kick into full gear here pretty soon, so he may have to stop. For some reason, nursing makes me feel like throwing up even worse when I'm nauseated!

I'm not sore yet (I hope it stays away), but I am touched out already. Between ds that plays so rough and dd that is a very distracted nurser, I'm not liking the feelings during those times.

I often get nauseous when nursing, even while not pregnant. For quite a while I felt bad about it because what kind of mom wants to puke when their baby nurses. Then I read on kellymom that some women get nauseous during nursing because of the release of so many hormones.

Well, my DD may have weaned herself. I was gone for 48 hours, now I've been back for 24 hours and she hasn't asked to nurse once. She's only 19 months old. Her brothers didn't wean until 3 to 3 1/2. It may be too soon to call it. But if she has weaned, I can't say I'm totally sad. (Been nursing for almost 6 years straight now--a little break might be okay.) We'll see.

24mos old DD is still nursing 4-6x daily & thankfully I haven't had any nipple tenderness or creepy crawlies just yet. I think I'm going to take a wait & see approach in terms of weaning. I don't have any problem tandem nursing but I think I'd prefer it if she at least night weaned before the baby arrived. She currently nurses around 1, 3 & 5am & I've been having a lot of trouble getting back to sleep lately after so if anything I think that might be something I gently encourage her to wean from. She still doesn't have her 4 canine teeth or her 2yr molars yet though & I can't imagine going through teething without being able to nurse her...

I'm still nursing my 19-month daughter. I just found out I was pregnant yesterday, but have noticed that she's become even more attached to me over the past week, and she wants to nurse constantly. Yesterday (before we found out) we were in the grocery store, and she was yelling "boobie!!!" at the top of her lungs and trying to pull my boob out of my shirt (by my nipple... ouch!) I plan to try to tandem nurse, but since I don't have any prior experience, I don't know what to expect. I know my doctor wants moms to ween by 20-weeks of pregnancy, but I don't think it's necessary.

I'm still nursing. Just this morning I noticed it was a little tender like I am right around o time. My previous two kids weaned while I was pg, but the oldest went back to nursing after the babe was born, the 2nd one never did though. I imagine this kiddo will wean too. She'll be two in about 3 weeks, so it's not really a big deal to me. All of my kids have nursed to at least 2.
