Hi! This is my first post in this forum since DS2 was born five months ago! I hope it doesn't actually belong in Health and Healing...I'm just hoping someone can shed light on this weird symptom.
A couple days ago I noticed a welt on DS2's head - in the hairline above the right temple. My first thought was mosquito bite - it looked very similar, with a raised white spot in a reddish circular area. It had gone down within an hour. I remember thinking "Jeez, infants heal so fast!" Fast forward to today, and he had the VERY SAME BUMP in the VERY SAME PLACE, plus another one right above it. Uh-oh...so now I'm thinking we have a mosquito in the house or something. Except I don't see the little hole in the center of the welt that you normally get with a mosquito.
Anyway, those bumps also went away fast, but just now he has one at the crown of his head - I haven't heard/seen any mosquitoes, and we've been indoors most of the day.
Right now I'm thinking maybe he's just really prone to lumps from bumping his head. He's pretty active and almost crawling, and he did bonk his head slightly on DS1's trike wheel just before I noticed the bump (15 minutes prior, say). I'm hoping it's nothing more than that, but it just seems so weird. Anyone else have a clue here?
