Yeah, Marion!  Well, close.  I am in Ada (most people don't even know that who are FROM Ohio, haha - near Lima) for school, but once DD comes we are moving to Marysville area so DH and I both have a fair commute (he to OSU, me to ONU).  Eventually we want to move to Dublin or Pickerington.  I am into attachment parenting and babywearing concepts, but this is my first child, so haven't tried anything out yet.  I am nervous about having to be at school all the time and away from my baby, but know that I am doing what is best for her in the end.  Just means I have to make quality time count.

amers- I had my first baby in marysville, there was a really great CNM practice, but they have recently closed :( It was still a nice hossy tho, I was 1 of 2 laboring moms that day.

I'm near Columbus also...just 20 minutes North in Lewis Center.  Still trying to find some mamas nearby that don't *gasp* when they find out the youngest has never been vaxed  ;)    I'm an "older mama" now and so much happier with the choices we are making towards a more natural-minded lifestyle.   If any of you get to the Polaris area----would love to meet up!!

I had DD there, what a great place! I was the only one laboring that day!

thankfulforfive- who do your kids see for ped, we see Dr Thoma at the Grady Med office building, but if they move to the new hossy on Ohiohealth Dr. IDK if we can make it that far....and I make it to Polaris occasionally, I will PM you.

Columbusmomma- did you see Lisa Smithers? that's who I used, she is wonderful!!

mammamo---the youngest sees Dr. Carine in Upper Arlington.  Honestly though, she's only been twice.  Last time was for her 2-year check-up.  We didn't do well baby exams in infancy since we skipped vaccines and she's our 5th child .  The older kids see Dr. Jill Porter on Polaris----they just get sport physicals there.

Looks like there are some like-minded moms near me after all! I'm equidistant from Mansfield and Marion (near Bucyrus), and we visit Columbus every few weeks when the weather is nice. I have yet to find a ped or family doc in this area who is non-vax and intact friendly and is supportive of full term breastfeeding - am I asking too much??? LOL! Guess I need to branch out a little! It's not like we go to the doc often, but it would be nice to have one just to develop rapport in case we actually need to see a doc for something serious. Homebirth moms in the area - midwife recommendations? I was planning to be living in Canton but for now I'm staying in this area, so I was hoping to find a midwife within an hour's drive (I'm due in August).

Hello Columbus moms!!!!!!!! I am SO excited to have found this thread. I am currently near the Youngstown area (northeast ohio) and I have to say natural/attachment parenting is pretty rare around here! I am (95% certain) moving to Columbus in June as DH is getting a new job there and I am so excited! I am a little worried about finding the right doctors and support groups though.... glad to see this thread!

Hi, I am a SAHM to three girls ages 5, 3 and 10 months. I'm a Christian, I practice attachment parenting, We are a non-vaxing, pro-breastfeeding and babywearing kind of family! I would love to make some new like minded friends, but I don't discriminate :) I am moving to Mansfield Ohio from PA for my husband's new job. If you already have a "circle of moms" there, I'd love to get connected. If you don't already have a group, well... then I guess I'll start one. :)
