Help! Stinky Pants

We have been using Green Mountain prefolds stuffed into cotton pocket diapers with BSSW covers on our 13 mo DS and lately he just gets so stinky with pee. He is maybe 25lbs using 30lb maximum diapers. I find myself having to change out the covers more often but he still has an odor. The diaper pail is just killer too and I do laundry every other day. He is changed every 1-3 hours depending on wetness and he doesn't even get that wet before stinkin'. His diet has not been changed, has no allergies, no medical probs, just stinky

Maybe it's time to check your wash routine. If the detergent isn't rinsing clean, this can cause an issue and things can STINK STINK STINK... making it seem like your child's pee is stinking, when it's really the diaper.

You might need to strip your diapers or use less detergent.

I only have stink issues with microterry (which I was using inside a coton prefold with a Bummis SBW), and I've been slowly adding more bamboo and hemp to my stash to replace them. Icky stuff. I nearly pass out when I do the laundry (and I do it at least every other day, if not every day).

To me, it's just not worth stripping them once again and having the issue arise over and over. (Plus, all that water usage... adds up!)
