I pump every day, but today there was no milk!

I pump every evening after my DS goes to bed and usually get 3-4 ounces, even though I end up pumping fairly soon after his last nursing session. But tonight, he was super fussy, I had to nurse him three times over 2 hours or so before he would fall asleep. It's been an hour or so since he went to sleep, I went to pump, and got less than 1/2 ounce.

Could I be having some major supply dip? Is the poor baby starving, and that's why he didn't want to go to sleep? Or did he just drink all the milk, leaving little for the pump?

I did have let down and heard him swallowing when I nursed.

nak

usually it is the pump.

Sounds as if your baby drank it all. 2 hours of nursing can equally a LOT of milk removed. Could it be a growth spurt? The fussing and constant nursing would lead me towards that thinking.

I agree, it does sound like it could be a growth spurt. He's just coming up for four months, right? Common time for a growth spurt, although babies don't always do it by the book. Should settle down in a day or two.
