Before my son I was the exact day. Every month. I wasn't on the pill. I would be considered late if I was a day later.
That is good to know because now since my son I have been thinking my cycle is way off! It is give or take by 5 days now.

A 5 day cycle? I think you mean your menses is 5 days, which is actually normal. A new cycle always begins the first day of your period.

AFM: First day of EWCM today! SCORE! I wasn't sure if it was CM or DH's deposit, so did the old water test and there was no break up so I'm pretty sure it was CM, yay! Hopefully we can DTD tonight but I've been pretty mean to DH tonight (he totally doesn't deserve it but it's been a bad day... no excuse, I know) so he probably won't be too friendly tonight, lol. I guess I should start sucking up now, huh?

It seems like most of you guys use the OPK's with two lines. But wouldn't it be easier to use the smiley face ones so there is less ambiguity? I tried them when I first started TTCing but felt like I didn't get a good dark line until day of O. I use an Ovacue but the SMEP plan requires OPK's so I thought I would give them a second try.

I think the two line OPKs are quite a bit cheaper than the smilie face ones...

Oh no I mean 5 days before the 13th or 5 days after the 13th if that is when I usually start. Sorry if I am confusing you guys. I feel confused myself.

It probably would be, but you can't get 50 of the digital smiley face ones for $9 on Amazon. I use the two lines ones solely because of price. This is our sixth month TTC and I have irregular and sometimes long cycles...this past one I started testing on CD10 and finally ovulated on CD45. No way can I afford blowing through that many digital OPKs.

what is with my temp dip on 3dpo ? blah ... rubbish ... the start of another poopie cycle and I think I DTD to late on O day anyway... blah blah blah .... On the plus side im booking my OH SA today after he gives me his stupid NHS number

I use to two-line OPK's because they're cheaper than the smiley versions. Plus, since they're cheaper, I can use as many as I want during a cycle without feeling guilty about wasting them - I sometimes test twice a day to make sure I don't miss the surge, and sometimes I'll test after O just to see what comes up.

Golf -- Agreeing with the others, just too expensive... but I'm pretty lucky, I usually get a REALLY strong line the day before Oing. The day of O, it almost always is quite a bit lighter then the previous one.

Outside -- I get what you're saying now... I'd say try charting on fertilityfriend.com ... it will give you a clear picture of your cycle to see if it is normal. As for the water trick, it's a way to tell whether it's EWCM or DH by taking it and putting it in some water. If it breaks up easily, it's more then likely DH's deposit. If it stays together, globs up and sinks, it's more then likely EWCM. It has helped me on several occasions when I couldn't tell for sure.

CLH: Hope you get the SA with no trouble and hope it goes well



AFM: I was almost positive I would be Oing today as I had some ovulation pains late last night and a small amount of EWCM yesterday. I usually get a LOT of EWCM along with much stronger O pains then I did last night right before Oing. However, today I have had NO O pains and VERY little EWCM so I'm not sure what to think... I wonder if the O pains happened while I was asleep and missed it and maybe I'm not getting the EWCM because we have been BDing so much? I remember when I was TTC my daughter, I never seemed to have much EWCM unless we took a break and then all the sudden I had a LOT. I don't even know if it makes sense but is it possible I'm just not getting the EWCM because we're BDing so much? And no, I'm not confusing it with DH's deposit because that's not coming back out either!!... I don't know where it's going unless it's mixing really well and going up inside to my eggies! Now I'm kicking myself for not charting this cycle... ugh!

I am starting to get tired of thinking about it! We have never tried so I didn't know all of the details of CM, ovulation cramps and stuff like that. Now I find that I am constantly checking my CM and thinking my husband and I have to DTD all the time in order to get that short 3 day window. I had no idea the window was so short! I need to relax and calm down.
Maybe once I know my cycle more I will know around when O happens and I won't be checking all the time. I am not looking forward to the waiting for AF! That two week wait is horrible! I imagine every symptom and test a million times with the dollar store tests.

outsideofthebox - sorry if we scared you! I think you are in a position where you just dont have enough information at this point to pay as much attention as a lot of us do without driving yourself nuts! When you don't have a good grasp of what's going on with your body, you can go nuts trying to determine what's fertile CM vs not, when a good time to DTD is and not, etc. Hopefully you won't have a next cycle , but if you do, you will already be able to obsess a little less because you'll have a month under your belt. 1. They aren't positive (stupid Answer tests + too much internet research = second guessing my positive. grrr)
2. I caught the beginning and end of a surge

We BDed last night (DH initiated...I obliged, even though maybe I should have waited another day), don't know if he'll be up for another round tonight, we'll see. He's straddling the line between "seeing what happens" and actual trying. Saying things like, "We should do it tonight, right?" and "If we are trying to have a baby..." So maybe he's up for 2 nights in a row .

just a note, i have spent the last 4 months of TTC thinking that I HAVE TO DTD THE DAYS LEADING UP TO O TO GET PREG. well i researched how to naturally conceive a girl, and apparently DTD 12 hours AFTER o is prime! so maybe your subconsciously working on a girl.

he sounds like my husband! hes all for "trying" when he is in the mood! lol but secretly i think that he likes that he 'gets some' a little more than usual. maybe your husband is just enjoying the perks of making a baby without the pressure of it. sounds like fun to me! good luck!

Unfortunately, I had a MC and lost my July BFP baby. I'm devastated. It's too early to think about TTC yet, but I wanted to get back in and hopefully find some normalcy soon.
