Is it worth it to do FPU?

Our church is offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at the cost of $99 per couple. We are familar with DR through listening to his program and reading the website. We think it is a really good program that works. However, we are already DEBT FREE!
We have always been careful with money, never having any consumer debt or car loans. I got through college on academic scholarship, and my husband had family help.
After a recent blessing, we were able to sell our home and buy an old farm to start our homestead. We are remodeling, and we are able to pay cash for everything.
I am an RN, but now I SAH with the kiddos. We did fine on my husband's modest salary even with a mortgage, but will have even more wiggle room when the house is done in a few months. We even love rice and beans.

I am really interested in the FPU course, but is it worth our time and money to take it? I don't think it will be life changing for us like it can be for some, but will we learn something from it? Have any of you done the class? What do you think?
Thanks!

You would probably learn something from the later classes, but not so much from the earlier ones in the series. There would still be some useful info for you, but maybe not $99 worth. You could probably just get the info from his books since you are already in such a good place financially.

On the flip side though, if you would like to take the classes and it wouldn't burden you financially, you probably would enjoy them. You would also be a help in encouraging others to get to the same place financially.

Personally, I don't think his investment advice is stellar, and it seems to me that you are way beyond where his ideas are useful. I'd just take a few good books on investing out of the public library.

We had already been on a strict budget and credit-card free for about 9 months when we took it. It was a nice refresher and a nice way to get intense about it again. We did gain some new insight into things like emergency funds and life insurance, I personally think it was a good investment.

I would just read his books -- everything in the course is in the books.

And if you need to see Dave in person handing out his own advice, there are tons of FPU videos for free on youtube.

What she said, and tune into his radio show to hear him rehash it all.

I have never attended a class or live event, but I did think that reading Total Money Makeover was a very good use of my and DH's time. I do think there are things for people with out debt to learn about priorities, budgeting, and working together as a couple.

I had a conversation this summer with my SIL and BIL who have no debt and own their house outright, but honestly could work on the budgeting and having common goals part.
