cold/teething=nursing strike or weaning?

dd is 13 mo and has been unwell the past several days. she just cut 3 teeth at once so i chalked the sleeplessness, agitation, fever, and runny nose (clear) to teething. and she was nursing A LOT. i mean, she generally still nurses more than a dozen times a day, but she spent a couple days seemingly at the breast all. day. long. again, made sense for teething. but now, she seems to be feeling better in some ways — is still cranky but has more energy, isn't running a fever — though she now has a cough and her snot is green. and now she doesn't seem to want to nurse at all. she nursed only once today, at the end of the day for a few minutes before going to sleep.

i guess what i'm looking for in all that is: is she starting to wean, or is it just because she's congested?

should i try pumping and offering her bm in a sippy cup?

She's way too young to be weaning, I would bet it's hard to nurse with her snuffy nose. Keep offering- try nursing in a steamy bathroom or anything else that works to clear her nose.

hope she feels better soon!

ITA with Alegna - plus you can express off a little milk and put it up her nose - it works wonders in helping a stuffy nose, maybe think about nursing sitting upright so that it's easier for her, maybe use a little aromatherapy with eucaliptus (sp? - lol) oil and maybe some tea tree oil to relieve the congestion. But yeah way to young to be weaning.
