Our situation is that we have 4 year old ds, 20 month old dd, and baby number 3 coming any day now. We have a king sized bed where dh, ds, dd and I all sleep together and no more space for the new baby.
We tried to transition ds to his own bed when I found out I was pregnant. We moved a twin bed into our room and after sleeping in it for half a night, ds decided he didn't want to sleep in it again. Dh is feeling like he is going to be the one pushed out of the bed and is not super pleased with this idea.
I feel that it would be a really bad idea to force ds into his own bed, I don't want him to feel kicked out by the new baby. DD still nurses some at night and is nowhere near ready to be in her own bed.
We don't really have the funds to invest in a co-sleeper right now, so the only thing I can think of is to try and push the twin bed up against the king and see if I can get someone to sleep in it.
I am looking for ideas I may not have thought of, or opinions on what would be the safest order of people if we did push the twin bed up to the king.
Anyone?
