In appreciation of my 13 YO son

I have a 20 month old and a 13 YO, and the 20 month old gets the vast majority of my time/attention for obvious reasons. My older DS is private and independent and likes to be alone...plus he's 13, so hanging out with mom, dad and little brother isn't his idea of a good time.

On Sat, he and I went shopping for school clothes, just the two of us. I was reminded of what a funny, clever, wonderful child he is. He has such a great sense of humor...and a good heart...and I just love him.

Boys are fantastic. DS (12 yo) and I went shopping on Friday because he had no long pants. We're leaving much of the rest of BTS shopping until he knows what he wants. We have a budget and when he realized we'd used 60% of it in one go, he was horrified. I was thrilled.

This has been his summer to grow up. He rode his bike hither thither and yon with friends. Hooray for boys.

My boy is 10 so has a few years before he is a teenager, but he is such as joy. i look forward to him becoming a teen.
