ewww all the more reason to buy pastured organic chicken eggs.

Great so the risk of slamonella will go down, but people will be ingesting yet more disease/illness causing chemicals.

I read that but am not sure what to think about it. They are touting it as a cure-all and that is rarely the case. I don't think they are referring to vaccinating the egg, but the hen who lays the eggs. Still, it would be much better to simply prevent unhealthy hens and farms in the first place. And what about serotype replacement and such; what is going to crop up in place of salmonella down the line in these hens? I think we need a little less vaccines and antibiotics in our world today and not more. It seems like a good thing now (to most people) but I think it will come back to bite us in the butt later on in some way.

All I have to say is I'm glad I can buy them from a local farmer. Truly free-range, organic eggs.

Edited to add: Vaccinating for salmonella is common already. This is just what the vaccine industry needed to push for a mandate.

I know that!! I realize how it sounded after I posted. I chose that title since that was the title for the first article I posted. Not sure how to change a title

ETA: nevermind I figured it out!

Just an FYI too that like as not, unless you've checked I'd assume that the chickens who are laying your 'farm fresh eggs' were fed medicated chicken starter and like as not vaccinated for coccidossis and possibly salmonella as chicks. Its pretty standard practice and just costs a couple extra bucks when you order chicks from a hatchery.

Exactly what Emily said... Most hens are vaxed for cocci and Merecks (s?) as chicklets. It seems pretty uncommon even amongst backyard chickens to have a totally unmedicated bird and Mereks is a scary reality when it wipe out an entire flock.
