How often are you bathing your LO?

Right now, my almost 6m DS is taking a bath twice a week. Is that enough? Too much? I cannot remember how often DS#1 took a bath at that age but for some reason, I thought it was more. Maybe it's because now that I have two, I only have time (some nights) to give one or the other a bath - depending on who's dirtiest and it's usually my 4.5yo!!

I have girls so maybe that factors in more that I am concerned about their vaginal health. we also don't use diapers here and my babies tend to be naked in our home. So we usually bathe at least once a day. There was a time when it was the only time I had a moment of peace when dd1 was small, so she would sometimes take 3 or 5 baths a day. When the baby is newborn and in my arms a lot, I didn't worry about bathing so much, but once they start being mobile, I like a good rinse off at least once a day. we are a soap/shampoo free family though. If you used soap, it may tend to dry out the skin I would imagine. I also always have them in the bath after a bm. I cleanse with water first, then a bath.

eta at that age of dd2, we took a bath together. This makes it easy, you get a rinse off and the baby at the same time. I still get in with her most every day. dd1 even got in with us for the first time last week, first time all three of us in the tub... I wanted to wait until dd2 was bigger before letting her in with us

I probably bathe her 2x per week and take her in the shower with me 1x per week, more or less depending on her dirtiness! She does tend to get kinda stinky once in a while from sour milk/spit up/sweat getting in her rolls lol! We use California Baby on her hair occasionally and on her skin only if she's really grimy...

Yeah, he's becoming a bit mobile. Sitting up unassisted and really wants to crawl. I think once he's stablized his sitting up unassisted, he'll start taking baths withi his big bro which will save a lot of time!!
We do use soap/shampoo but I don't wash his hair each bath time - it's not good for his scalp.

Almost 5 month old dd gets bathed probably about twice a week. We've only used soap (california baby) on her maybe three times. Some weeks she may get 3 baths if she does something to get dirty. But really, there's only so much a 5 month old can do to get dirty!

Hmm...I bathe my 7 mo sometimes 2xday. She gets dirty, what with making a mess of her food, just being a baby. On better days, once a day.

DD gets a bath every night as part of her bedtime routine. Ever since she started solids, she's been FILTHY by the end of the day and needs that bath! Plus, she loves splashing around and playing in the water.

She's 8 months.

My 2 month old loves the bath and it really settles him at night before bed so he gets one every day. He loves to splash his feet in there and squirm and smile so I let him sit in there as long as he wants. We use Earth's Best soap every night, but only a small glob in the whole bath and then I use a washcloth to wash it around. I think the lavender smell helps to soothe him for sleep. His skin isn't particularly dry and his scalp isn't scaly or anything, so I think we're doing okay.

My almost 3month old gets bathed 2x a week. We use cloth wipes with our own solution (coconut oil, water and California baby area wash) every time we change her so her private parts our kept pretty clean. I wash her hands more frequently because they seem to get full of lint and she keeps them clenched most of the day...so they need a cleaning more often.

My son's in daycare and he's a sweaty boy, so he gets a daily bath.

DD, also almost 6 months, gets bathed about twice a week. If she gets sunscreen or bug spray on, then I do wash her that night.

We got this awesome bathseat thing, clips on to the side of the tub - that makes it a breeze to wash both kids at once! I would never have used it with just one baby, but it definitely gets used now! Plus DS loves taking a bath with his little sister.

5 month old daughter is generally once a week, though we do tend to do a family shower with all three of us in the shower on some weekends, so sometimes she gets two cleanings a week. We don't use any soap or shampoo or anything like that. She doesn't need it.

DD gets a bath just about every night, as part of her bedtime routine.

When she was a newborn, she'd get a sponge bath every 3rd day or so, and then we gave her morning baths every 2 days or so. But when we decided to create a nighttime routine, the bath became a daily thing. Plus at 10 months, she's pretty grubby by the end of the day!

Same here. I only use soap/shampoo a couple times a week, so it's usually just a nice warm bath to calm her down and get her ready for bed.

Between the dirt, the dust, the food, and the baby sweat (DD is one sweaty baby), we have to shampoo every day!

J is about 3.5 months and gets a bath less than once a week. In fact it's become a bit of a joke. My brother teasingly asked when she'd last been bathed and DH responded thoughtfully "Hm, well it's August now..."

We use cloth wipes wet with plain water and I wipe her face and hands a few times/day.

She is just starting to enjoy playing in the bath though so we'll probably do more just for fun. And, I imagine in summer and when the crawling starts we will move to daily.

my 5-month old LO gets wiped down with cloth wipes (in a solution of 4 drops tea tree, 2 drops liquid soap) once a day, in those pesky creases.

he takes a shower or bath with one of us 2-3 times a week, no soap, just water and an soft cloth. often in the bath i have coconut oil.

with a little baby soap.

Evie is 5.5 months and gets bathed every 2-3 days. My mom likes to bathe her and I have to remind her to go easy on the CA Baby shampoo/soap.. If I'm taking a bath and she wakes up from a nap, I have DP bring her in with me and we just rinse off. I actually had a talk with my mom today about how washing her too frequently or with too much soap will wash off the anti-bacterial oils that her body already makes, plus it'll dry out her soft skin. I rarely use soap myself and I rarely have body odor, plus my skin is always soft. It just feels like it's healthier, even in our anti-bacterial culture

1-2x a week. She doesn't really like the baby tub so instead she showers with one of us on the weekend. I try to get a 2nd bath in there somewhere but it doesn't always happen. Par for the course of being the #2 kid I guess. We use California Baby Wash. She has a full head of hair that starts to STINK after a while. Definitely needs some soap to get clean.
