I also stalled at 4 for a few hours. Then in one hour, went from a 4 to a 7! It sucks, but it's totally normal to have lulls. Take a small break, like a shower, nap, anything and it will start again.

not that this is what she wants to hear but i was at 4cm with ds1 for 18 hours and then went from 4-10 in a half hour... so... you never know how fast those last cms will go!

Totally agree with this, the 1 cm an hour (is not only silly) but it also is an AVERAGE, so you may stall, which like PP said, is normal, but then things can REALLY take off!

Thanks for your kind posts. I hope she gets to read them. I know, at least, she is feeling all of your good energy. You know this can be very discouraging. She always talks of how sweet you all are, and now I see it for myself!

There's something about 4! I stalled there too and then opened to 10 in one contraction after a little loopy gas. I literally left my body! I just needed to relax.
I hope you are holding your baby by now Crafty. Lot's of positive thoughts your way.
