so now i can rest easy that she's really a girl and start knitting and sewing more! yay!
She is just too beautiful! You can see her eyelashes in the pic of her sticking her tongue out. Love the pics. We did a 3D at 23w (they do not tell you the sex here unless you get a private one done) and the pics weren't anywhere near as detailed. Such a pretty little girl.

Temperature wise, it's not too terribly hot here (about 25 today) but it's really, really humid. Here on the east coast, we're expecting a hurricane this weekend. We don't frequently get them this far north, so it may die down before then. Poor hubby, though, he's going to have to haul in everything from the deck tomorrow morning so that it doesn't blow away.

I've been getting the crazy baby spasms too. I figure it's just muscle twitches due to the rapid growth.

HUGE achievement I have to share: My DS is 3.5 but does not use the potty yet. He will go if we take him, but he does not ask and only in the past couple days has he gone on his own at all. Today, he pooped in the potty without being told to. We had a mini dance party, I gave him a piece of candy, and I let him call his grandmother to tell her. I made a very, very big deal of it. Hopefully this continues.

Catie-that's pretty much what we did. I would just have the little baby bjorn potty by the big potty and get the kiddo on there while I peed. If they did, fine, if not, whatever. Once it became a routine, it stuck and was easier later. I start this about age 1 though and do some EC, though not all the way.

DirtyHippyMama - So adorable! Thanks for sharing your u/s pics with us.

BirdMum- That is an awesome acheivement! I can remember the first time the autistic boy I worked with pooped on the potty by himself (he was much older), we cried we were so happy at that milestone! Congrats!

if anyone who is sweltering in summer heat wants some cool weather, come to where I live.. its seriously cold here... we went to an outside park birthday party yesterday and i was freezing. it was windy and threatening rain.. i wished that I had my winter coat. seriously! and last night it rained like crazy. it was nice to wake up to the sound.. I actually love rainy days.

i woke up, washed yesterdays dishes and scrubbed out the fridge..a job i have been needing to do and finding no motivation. i love these little spurts of "must do" I cant even put these things off when im compelled to do them.

DP is working on getting our tub in. he has never done this sort of plumbing before and since he is raising up the shower head (he is 6"2) and the taps (because its a much deeper tub than the last) its quite a bit of fussy work. he wont hear of hiring someone else but I guess when its done it will be that much more enjoyable. I cant freaking wait for a HOT bath in my own bathroom. I bought some weleda citrus cream wash (that was 50% off at the health food store) and im so impatient to use it. im loving citrus scents this time around.. and vanilla!~

US tomorrow! my only concern is that all of my reaserch says that after 30 weeks dating can be off by +-21 days?! that is 3 weeks on either side.. but I think its still worth it. Im looking forward to seeing my babe.

birdmum: congrats on the forward steps! potty learning is HUGE.

MZminty: floradix is liquid and its very irony tasting (almost like blood but sweet) but you do get used to it and it really is a good source of iron..
but so is nettle tea and that's not nearly so bad!

St.margaret: have a great rest day!

farren: we have shared similar summer weather. I did enjoy the heat while it lasted but im honetsly kind of glad its almost autumn..hopeing for another few warm days next weekish..i want to go camping one more time (just overnight) before summer is truly over.
and YAY! for being done with work. nest to your hearts content!

DirtyHippyMama: beautiful pictures mama!! how amazing to see just what they actually do in there, rather than just feeling the pokes and flops..its crazy! they are tiny little people in there!

Happy September everyone!

ps. anyone else in awe that the September mamas are all having babies now? its just October between us and them! eek!

Yup. The later the u/s exam, the less accurate the dating. A lot of times though I see later u/s exams agree with earlier dating scans so you never know. Do be sure to post pics of your little bean!! That's so exciting!

Yeah, I was just thinking of that, actually. In only 9 more days, the October 1st mums will hit 'full term.' That means only 40 more days before November 1st mums reach that milestone. At another site I'm part of, there's been several October babies born already.

Please send some of your weather this way. We Maritimers don't do so well with humidity and could use some good wind to get rid of it.

I haven't had a scan before this. and since I only started my prenatal appointments at 20 weeks all I have to base things on is my LMP and my midwifes measurements since then which have always been 3-5 weeks ahead.
im also trying to think of milestones that could help dating, like feeling movement.. which for me happened between 14-16 weeks. I thought that I felt movement at around14 weeks but for sure by 16.

I really thought I was pregnant in Jan and then I got a late and unexpected moon on Feb.1st, which is what im basing this pregnancy on.. but now Im strongly thinking it could have been bleeding in early pregnancy rather than a period.. Im hoping the US might shine some light...
I do feel like I could be 34 weeks rather than 30.. im feeling some serious pressure between my legs these past few days coupled with cervical twinges and nesting urges

we've been putting him on about once or twice a day since he was around 16/17 months old and he has always gone.. we will just continue to do that until he starts telling US when he has to go.

He pees really often though.. I have noticed anytime he has gone diaper free, or when we used cloth diapers, that he pees every 30 minutes or more, but in small amounts.... is that normal? He doesn't drink a lot or anything.. maybe 16 oz total a day. Just curious.

My 4th is that way. Still is. I just assume she has a tiny bladder like her mommy. I would say it's not an issue unless he also has extreme thirst or other signs or diabetes. But it's so rare, especially without other obvious issues. I think it's just some kids pee a lot.
Well Fern, it totally sounds like you may have had implantation bleeding or early pregnancy bleeding, especially since you are measuring ahead. Whatever they tell you though, I'm excited that you get to see your LO! Can't wait to hear how it goes!!

It just hit me that I'm exactly two months from my due date today.

I only have 6 weeks to get ready. Sure I'll probably go the whole 10 more weeks, but I always *have* to be ready by 36 weeks because I'm a crazy nester. So little time!
Holy moley, are we ever a chatty bunch! I got the majority of the little baby clothes put away yesterday in the new little "dresser." They are so TINY! I think that I'm going to need another little storage container of some kind for burp rags and socks and things of that nature.

Fern, I also cleaned the fridge today. I hope yours was not nearly as bad as what mine was. What possesses a person to keep a salad dressing for ages that no one actually likes? Anyway, it's clean and it even inspired me to do my pantry as well.

My little people are trying my patience today. The little boy I watch is trying to annoy dd at every turn and she's responding by screaming, which he seems to really like. It's just a lovely cycle. Right now she's giving herself a time-out on my bed. Complete with blankies and dollies and cats. I was hoping that he would be a good playmate for her, but he's just incredibly immature compared to her. Oh well, time to clean up and go get the big kids from school.

Hello everyone! Another week closer to meeting our babies.

We are having company this weekend and My son's 4th birthday and party is Sunday so I am just trying to get the house together. It isn't that bad but I need to make it ready for overnight company and whoever comes to the party. I haven't had an RSVPs from his preschool class, I only have one girl's number to call but I might call tonight because they played everyday at school for the past year and moved up classes together.

I went into my old job that I am going back per diem to yesterday to fill out some paperwork and have a quick refresher orientation. I am happy that I have a job again and that it will be flexible with school but that means I actually have to work. Realistically I only have to work 4 shifts before I have this baby.

This belly thing is starting to get in the way now. I have a hard time reaching to put the glasses away because I can't get close enough since I have a pregnant belly pushing me out. The same for dishes, I end up leaning forward to reach and my back get sore.

Nic-If I use your alternate dating rule I end up bumping myself into Decmeber! Also I sent the beads on Monday so hopefully you'll get them soon.

We're at 3 pages already?! Yikes! lol

I'm ready for fall weather. *nods* Totally!

Let's see... I'm still anxiously waiting for my Dad to finish the bedroom so I can finally really start nesting. I'm going insane. I need to have things in place and unpacked.

Today I am very tired. So glad I actually don't have anything to do for a change after work. DD and I can just chill in the air conditioning! Yay!

Hey ladies (hope that's not offensive to anybody!) Today is September 1st and I'm curious to know who has sent beads to me and who hasn't. I update the list on our facebook page daily after the mail comes. I figure there are going to be a few stragglers that arrive in the next few days. So.. if you have sent me beads and your name isn't on the list yet can you please message me, either on facebook or on here so I know what to expect... whichever is easiest for you! Thanks so much!!
