Where to go from here

I've been doing EC with DS for about the past month and he just turned 1. We've used cloth since the beginning and it's mostly been cotton during the day and stay dry at night. So it's actually been going fairly well. He wont pee on the potty but will standing up. We caught our first poo on the potty the other day too. Today the only "misses" were during the night, naps, and when we were out doing a photo shoot with some other families. He gets lots of naked time with DH when he watches DS while I'm at work 2 days a week but no real EC time (yet).

My question is where do you go from here?
Do I just continue to try to catch as many as I can during the day and the naps and night will just come? How do I transition to EC'ing while out and about? Is there a way to know when he'd be ready for that or do you just offer it and hope he goes? I usually put a stay dry on him at night time- should I stop doing that and use cotton?
thanks mamas! I *never* thought I would even try EC (or intactivism or non-vax, or a bunch of other things!) but so far it's been great!!

Anyone? I haven't been able to find a support group for EC'ing yet.

I think you are doing great! Follow your sons lead and it will work out just fine.
My experience is that ecing out and about is easier than at home bcs when I am out my child is always near me and at home she was off pooping in the playroom while I cooked dinner. Ecing while out for us was about timing and being prepared. We keep a bblp in the car and offer before she goes in the car seat and when she gets out. If I am not going to be somewhere that has a close by potty then I bring hers with us (i either use the potette or just throw the bblp in the stroller, just depends on the situation.) I have a waterproop piddle pad that goes in the car seat (3 actually) and if they got wet I just rotated them out as necessary. I always kept plenty of clothes for dd (and 1 outfit for me) in the car and a fully stocked "diaper" bag with washable wipes (dry), a small sprayer of bac out, 3-4 full outfits, a wet bag, a couple of pre-folds (for cleaning up messes, my lap, etc.) and a few pull ups in case we were gone all day and the misses were about to exceed our outfits. It seems like a lot but once everything is packed up it fits in a regular bag and we found that dd didn't have many misses while out so I didn't have to change the bag very often so once it is packed it is packed.
I also found that when we switched to underwear while out dd's misses were cut in half.
As far as naps and night that happened after we switched to full time undies during the day and as her misses during the day decreased so did wet dipes while sleeping. During the day I just kept a piddle pad in her bed so that If she fell asleep w/out a pull up than I didn't have to worry about it.
As far as your ds not sitting while peeing he might be more willing if he had a potty cozy so that the bblp wasn't cold or hot or sticky, etc. For now you can stand him over hte bblp and he can pee in it that way.
You are doing great! Don't stress about it. Just communicate w/ your ds, offer suggestions and follow his lead.

Sounds like you're doing great, I'd just keep it up. My son likes to pee standing up, though at 17 months he just started to pee sitting down too. I just hold the potty in front of him if he's standing. I find it easier to just use a potty insert than a one piece potty for standing though. I occasionally take a potty with me out & about & offer it, but I havent' had a lot of luck with it. DS is dry during the night 90% of the time & has his first morning pee in the potty.
