I find it ironic...

...that my mom 'liked' a group entitled "I would rather go to jail for spanking my kids, than for them to go because I didn't." on Facebook.

My brother is a felon.

That is all.

Hindsight is 20/20....?

A lot of people I know on FB have "liked" that phrase. Including my cousin, who as far as I know was never once spanked. Sometimes, I really wish there was a "dislike" button there.

Wow...definitely a bit of irony.

I've noticed that my MIL 'likes' a lot of those snappy sounding little groups, even if they have absolutely nothing to do with her life (I remember she 'liked' one that my 14 yr old niece posted about being able to talk to boys or something). I think sometimes people jump on the bandwagon because their friends posted it or it sounds good at that very moment. Who knows.

that is quite the irony. I've also seen that one... cringed when I saw it too. The assumption that spanking keeps kids out of trouble and kids who aren't spanked will get into trouble is silly. Yes, spanking is the ONLY FORM of parenting/discipline available.

I must say, beware those "likes"...one showed up on my own Facebook profile (and therefore on my friends news feeds) that said something like "Behind every b**ch is a man who made her that way"....OMG, I would SO NOT post or "like" a statement like that! It horrified me. I have since very heavily edited my application permissions, and can only hope that prevents it happening again.

I remember reading a study at some point that showed that the majority of offenders had "corporal punishment" used on them as a child.

Oh my goodness! Every single parent of young children except one (and I know she is against spanking) that I am friends with on FB has "liked" that!

My mom liked that too and I so wanted to be able to comment or dislike it, but there was nothing to let me do so! Aargh! My younger brother has been in trouble with the law too lol...makes no sense to me and plus she only hit him when he was little and now lets him run wild so her "liking" that doesn't even make sense!
