Question about PRP-T vaccine

Hi,

My daughter is 7 years old and I stopped vaccinating her at age 4 months after doing much research and discovering her many food allergies. I came across her vaccination record today and noticed that she was given the PRP-T vaccine at ages 2 months and 4 months along with the IHBDTP. I did a little research and discovered that the PRP-T vaccine has 24 mcg of tetanus toxoid in it (I think from what I read).

My question is: She has been given 2 doses of the tetanus vaccine from the IHBDTP, would she have any additional immunity to tetanus from the PRP-T vaccine? Tetanus is the one disease I am still a little concerned with in the back of my mind and have always thought that I would get her the TIG if an injury deemed necessary. Just curious if that extra bit in the 2 doses of PRP-T might have helped build her immunity at all. TIA

Not quite an answer to your question, but tetanus is probably the last disease I worry about. What makes you so worried about it?

It know it sounds silly. I am comfortable with my decision about tetanus 90 % of the time, it is just when she does get a cut or something I have that little "what if" voice in the back of my head. I have read the statistics that it is highly unlikely for her to get it and we do practice proper wound care etc., I think for me it is just the one vaccine I have second thoughts about now and then.

From my understanding the tetanus toxoid in the conjugated HIB vaccine does NOT provide any kind of protection from tetanus. Someone else just asked this same question not to long ago here is the thread

The best thing you can do to prevent this is clean a fresh wound, dress it appropriately, change the dressings often and just keep it clean.
