wait for 6 mo growth spurt before starting solids?

My son is 5.5 months and I'm hoping to do mostly BLW after 6 months. I know there's a growth spurt around 6 months - should I wait for that before starting solids? Is it important to have that bump up my milk supply instead of solids meeting his increased appetite - or will that naturally happen since I'll continue to nurse on demand (and before meals) and since BLW will very gradually add in solids?

Thanks.

I think you should watch him for signs of readiness. At the beginning there really won't be any less nursing involved.
