Okay, this is the first time I soaked my beans. I put water to cover (pintos) about 8:00 am and let them soak til about 12 midnight. It was pretty warm. That was a 16 hr soak.
Then I cooked them in the same water overnight. Was that wrong? Now I'm reading ur supposed to change the water when you actually cook them. Should I now toss these since they were cooked (in the crockpot) in the same soaking water? If it were me, I'd just eat them and see how it goes, but I cooked these for DD and I don't want to take a chance on her getting sick.
I did taste them and I will say that I like the flavor much better the old way (not soaking first...)
