Still Pregnant...Nipple Question

Hello. I hope this post belongs here.

Im 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and really really hoping to breastfeed.

Im probably way too obsessed with wanting to make sure I can, and thus over-analyzing my breasts...but Ive noticed a few things.

My breasts have always been asymmetrical. Normal, I know. But I havent really noticed much of a change in size (I think Ive gone maybe from a smallish DD to a fuller DD) Bras feel the tiniest bit tighter, but thats about it.

I guess my biggest concern is the nipples themselves. My larger breast (has a larger areola too) has started to take on a "raspberry-like" appearance. Theres crack-like grooves that seem to sometimes have dead skin/flakes in them. Im assuming this is normal.

However, my right breast/nipple doesnt have this. My nipple is primarily smooth, and is not as erect as my left one. Its not inverted, but needs more coaxing to become erect, and doesnt get as large, it seems.

I guess Im just worried about what this could or could not have to do with my (upcoming) nursing relationship with my daughter. Its really important for me to breastfeed, and I guess I'd just like to do anything I can now to make that a success for us.

Or am I just thinking too much into this all?

I'm 35+ weeks pregnant with my second and still nursing my first (who is almost 2.5).

I wouldn't worry. There is so very little that definitively predicts a problem and, even if there is something that might have predictive value, you can't *know* until you try. And none of what you've said sounds predictive at all. My breasts always looked different, they "performed" differently in the early days of nursing (but not in a problematic way), and DS behaved differently nursing from each!

And I totally know the "raspberry" appearance! Mine have it, too!

Also, there is still plenty of time for your breasts and nipples to change. And I've learned that your breasts can behave/change totally differently from one pregnancy to another (and that may partly be because I'm still nursing?). One difference I've noticed is that my areolas are MUCH darker this time. Perhaps my body is more concerned that I won't have time/energy to help a second nursling find the nipple, so it needs to be more obvious?
