Temp's back up again, and I'm nauseated like you wouldn't believe. I'll test tomorrow though. So scared to get a BFN!
I'd like to join, I asked a question in the main forum yesterday as well but maybe Ill repost my situation here since it has gone unanswered!

DS is almost 15mos old, but still nursing a lot. In fact, w/ so many here saying # x a day I was at a loss since its really so many I don't think I could keep count! I tried yesterday - he nurses at least 4-5x in the AM before I go to work (8-4, 5 days a week, he stays home w/ DH) I am finally down to only pumping 1x at work (4oz or so, 1-2 letdowns) then when I get home, at least 4-5x before bedtime as well, and then 1-2x overnight. So 10-12x a day? On weekends its probably a good amount more I guess.

anyway, despite this large amount of nursing I got my PPAF back at 6 months - but its hardly been 'normal' for me (I used to be clockwork, 28 day cycles, ovulate day 14, etc) my first cycle was 3 months long, then 2 months, then 1 month, and then 1.75 months. So its getting there, I guess, but I'm guessing I have a pretty late ovulation, if I'm ovulating at all.

I started temping this week, but I'm guessing I started past ovulation since my temps are pretty high and I had EWCM a few days before I started temping. I used to get pretty distinctive ovulation pain though, and I haven't noticed that, so I am worried that I'm not really ovulating at all.

I did want to ask, cosleeping and temping seems pretty tough! DS has good nights and bad nights sleep-wise, are temps super erratic because of no 3 hours in a row, etc?

anyway, we aren't in a rush, but Ill be 34 in October, so wanting maybe to do this sooner rather than later I loved having a June baby, so was hoping maybe to get lucky this month or the next one, but not holding out for that!

Txmom2 - Congrats!!

Becca - Things sound good though. Fingers are crossed for testing tomorrow!

Socalimommy - Good luck at the appt!!

Seafox - Welcome

Mamatosoren - Welcome

This whole experience is stressing me out (which is kind of counter productive to TTC isn't it??). The more signs I pay attention to in trying to figure out when Im ovulating the more confused Im becoming! Ok so yesterdy morning I had that ambiguous opk test with 1 side of the test line very dark, but the rest lighter than the control. I retested yesterday at about 5pm and again this am and both times the test line was clearly lighter. I had lots of CM on wed, but not too much yesterday and today not so much either. I had TERRIBLE mittleschmertz (sp?) yesterday and it peaked last night. This morning I got an extreme temp rise. All signs point to that I ovulated yesterday right? But the opk test is throwing me off unless that partially dark line WAS a positive and my the time I tested at 5pm the LH surge was over. Is that possible?? Also if it was ovulation yesterday this would be alot earlier than I usually ovulate. FF has me consistently ovulating around day 18 or 19. yesterday would have been day 15. We DTD last night, but since Ive been crabby and DH and I have been having homeownership problems and stress we hadn't DTD before yesterday since last saturday when I KNOW I was not fertile. I guess Ill wait for the crosshairs on FF and see what it has to say.

I'm supposed to go for PG level 6 days after + opk test and Im just not certain yesterdays test was +, so Im not sure when to go get the blood work. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I really am making myself crazy

ETA - I just spent some time looking at the picture gallery on ff of +opk's. I def think my "ambiguos" line yesterday am was a positive. Timing may be very off this month I never ovulate this early?? blah...my head is spinning.

TXMom- YAYAYYAAYAYAY!!!

everyone w/ info on supplements: Thanks! VERY helpful!

becca- I like it for a late implantation dip!!! I hear you on the BFN fear- I've been testing daily since like 2DPO, because I like to torture myself...

seafox- Hi! Welcome! Are you interested in nightweaning at all? If so, you might like Dr. Jay Gordon's very gentle nightweaning protocol for bedsharing families. If you can get 6 hrs at night between nursing, it can help get your O back on track, and help you get a break for a reliable temp.

AFM: 13DPO. BFN but I did get a temp rise. It's an ugly chart for sure, and I didn't test + til at least 16-17DPO with V, so Ive got a little bit of hope still. We're visiting family 8 hrs away for the weekend, so I'm going to pack some "feminine hygiene products" (I HATE that euphemism!) in case that rotten witch shows up on the road.
Marnica~ sorry you've been feeling stressed! I have been there, and when it all gets too much for me, I usually resort to just charting cm, and u'd be amazed how much better I felt, and how accurate it was to boot

Becca~Cmon

Erin~Sorry dear....holding out hope!!

Welcome Seafox!

AFM~BFN on FRER last night. I really thought I would see 2 lines, but was disappointed!! I have 1 left, and not sure when or if I'll use it . According to FF I'm 12 dpo today, which is fantastic! But if I'm back to my usual 11 day lp, I'm praying for AF to stay away!!!!! I am dying to test again today, but am trying to keep sane over here!

Congrats TXmom2!!!!

So I posted I thought I had ppaf.. NOPE it was a day of spotting... What was that all about... Ticks me off so should I count that as af or not? It was almost a light flow for part of the day then the next day turned brown?

I've thought about nightweaning, the thing is *most* days, I do get 6-7 hours okay - I'd say maybe 3 out of 4 nights Z sleeps straight until 4:30 am, and that's his only wakeup (I go to bed at 10ish) I guess the issue is that his bad nights are usually clustered together, a bunch in a row. The last bout was just this week. So that screws up temps for a long stretch, and also probably screws my cycle up a bit.

I guess I'm hesitant since I'm gone all day, so its kind of nice to have that bond at night, and he's been super slow w/ solids. The nights where he drinks more are almost always nights where DH had trouble getting him to eat (teething seems to make him not eat? or just general crankiness keeps him from eating too) so its hard to say whether he 'needs' it or not.

but Ill check out the Jay Gordon method as well! I might be up for nightweaning after his last molar comes in (he's got kind of 1.5 left)

hmm, I'm realizing that I guess maybe I should take my temp at that 4:30 am wakeup, then, since its the longest stretch? I guess that seems hard, I'm afraid the beeping will wake DS too much. Perhaps I should get a more silent thermometer !
seafox- I would totally temp at 430a, though the beep would probably be less problematic than finding enough light to see the temp, finding the pen and paper and recording it! It's def worth a shot, though!

Marnica: My OPKs look the same. A dark strip but the rest of the width of the line is lighter. I am not sure but I think as long as the strip is as dark as the control, it's positive! Sounds to me like you did in fact O. Are you checking cervix position as well?

Daisy: Fingers crossed for you!!!

AFM: I think my OPK is + today. Same issue as Marnica w/the line not all dark. Today is day 15 of my cycle and I o'd on day 15 last month. We shall see. :-)

Here's a quote from my favorite lady at peeonastick dot com in regards to opks:

http://peeonastick.com/opkfaq.html (this is the actual page address with a great pic of this as well)

"13. My test line looks "half positive"-- only one side of the line is dark. What does it mean? Most of the time, OPK results are easy to read; the "result" line is one uniform color/darkness. Sometimes, however, you may get a result that looks "half positive," like this:

"result" line on left
"control" line on right

When this happened to me, I contacted the distributor (in this case, BabyWishes.org)-- I even e-mailed them the above photo. I was told that the darkest part of the "result" line should be compared with the test line, and that this applies to all brands of OPK's.

This month I purchased some Answer brand OPK's, which I had never personally used before. After my LH surge appeared to last 6 days (going by the above rule of thumb), I made the unsettling discovery that my tap water was also ovulating. So I called Answer's 800# and asked the same question. This time I was told that the dark part of the line must be at least 50% of the total width to be considered positive. Going by THAT, the picture above would be considered negative. (And, in retrospect, my LH surge actually lasted a common 2 days-- and my kitchen faucet is not currently fertile.)

So, it appears that my information from BabyWishes was incorrect; it does, in fact, depend on the brand of OPK."

Confusing, I know, but there ya go
Thanks for all the info on OPKs, Jessica. Does anyone else feel like they need a degree to navigate this?!?!

BIG CONGRATS Txmom!!!

Seafox - I hear ya, my thermometer has the loudest beep ever, and it goes on forever! I shove mine under the pillow as soon as it starts which muffles it significantly. My DH hasn't complained yet.

Socali - Keep us posted on your appt, I hope it went well & the RE is helpful.

Littlestinkers - could it have been implantation? Have you taken an HPT recently? Sounds very exciting to me

Marnica - sorry about all of your stressors. It sounds like you did O, but don't give up until you know for sure! Even if you did O this early, sounds like BD yesterday was good timing....FX for you!

Becca & Jessica - I can't wait to see your posts tomorrow!!! I am really hopeful for you both. Lots of babydust your way.

AFM, Please move me to Waiting to O, AF arrived very unceremoniously yesterday I am wondering about talking to my MD about this. (I've already been seeing my ND). Anyone have any suggestions for questions I should be asking/avenues I should explore? I have no idea what she will suggest.
hey ladies, just saying hi and responding randomly to things posted above-
as to the maca, it acts as a regulator, so it can do different things for different people- supposed to get your hormones back in balance. i think around 1-2 tbsp is the usual amount per day. i found that the taste grew on me, and now i like it, though at first found it disgusting. (same with vitex.) as to b6, i've read that 200 mg/day is good, some say less, but since it's water soluble, no real danger in
seafox, my DS is 19 months and still nursing! at night and when i'm home during the day, i work full time too. i can't nightwean easily as my DH works at night a few nights a week, so being alone with him, it would be pretty difficult and i decided that i would just go with the flow, perhaps it will take me longer to get pg but i have a great bond with ds. i'm not sure that is helpful to you but at least you know you're not alone. and we co-sleep too. i just take my temp when i am conscious first and it is light enough to see the therm. i don't worry too much about the length of sleep because in the past, it hasn't affected my temps as far as i could tell. i don't get out of bed first though.
to marnica: opks sound super confusing, maybe just temp and check cm and go with that. perhaps the software and strips are too annoying? if you have consistent o for the last few cycles, you can just time dtd with that pattern in mind?
goodnight all and happy labor day weekend.

Around 2:30am, Jonas woke crying. I had a full bladder, but his needs came first. I changed his diaper and passed him to LJ, who got him in bed with us and tried to calm him down. I ran into the bathroom, got out the last FR test we had, and POAS. I decided against watching it, so I put it on the counter. I stood and looked at the test. One line. One little line... that would change my life! Why? Because it was there, just a little lighter than the control line! I walked into the bedroom, where Jonas was still fussing with his daddy and said, "Jonas, now this is not the way a big brother acts!" LJ grinned from ear to ear and said, "Positive?" I said, "Positive. Congratulations, Daddy!"

I feel blessed beyond explanation right now. Unfortunately, I also feel a very nasty headache and nausea lol...

All I can say is...

CONGRATULATIONS, BECCA!

I love, love, love your reveal story! What a beautiful way to tell! H&H 9 mo, mama!!

Yay!

Nice to see you Hilary! Awwww, Becca!!! Awesome girl! Wonderful news!

AFM~Headache for the last 3 days is really getting old, and now I have this sinus/throat thing...uuurrrggg! A little crampy too. I'm not very pleasant right now, but my temp us still up at at the least 11 dpo . I'm not optimistic, either as I now have skin breakout to go along with my headache . Maybe will try my last test today, but still thinking AF may come today or tomorrow.
