Teeth...

My Dr. Google skills are failing me here...

My DS just sprouted a new tooth... way (way!) to the left of where I expected it to come in. He has two (cute) little bottom teeth, right were they are supposed to be - so the next ones to come in are the top center ones, right? This one has come in where I would expect a canine - or maybe even further over than that. Is it possible that it is actually a canine? This tooth is quite large, in comparison with the two bottom teeth that are already in.

Is this something to be worried about? Does it even matter? I know not to worry about crooked baby teeth... but one that is a goodly distance from where it is supposed to be?

As a side note, when this tooth comes the rest of the way in, it is going to be the cutest tooth in all the land.

DS1 got two bottom middle, then top 2 canines. He was totally a vampire baby for a while. He then got top two middle, then the rest came in "in order" after that.

There is usually a pattern of middle teeth first, then consecutively outward, but not always. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Found a pic of when the top two were just coming in.

Well, we know about weird teeth order here... DD got the bottom left tooth (and had only it for another 4 months), then the top right, then the bottom right tooth -- but not the center one, the next one over... She looked like a jack-o-lantern for the longest time.

I wouldn't worry too much about that tooth... it'll all work out in the end.

MamieCole -- That is freaking adorable.

Exact same for Jules. We did call her Fang for awhile. There middle two teeth did start coming in soon afterwords. Now that the top 4 have poked through, they look more even with one another.

My Elsa is a vampire too. She got her two bottom center teeth in July, then about two weeks ago, on the same day, she sprouted two incisors. They could be the canines, because the gap is rather big, but I think by the time they grow all the way in and the middle two grow all the way it they will fill that space.

Apparently it's unusual but not amazingly so. Vampire baby love!
