Do you need the cuddles as much as your child does?

I'm just finishing up some overtime again tonight and got to wondering if other parents out there sometimes crave cuddles with their child as badly as their child does?

DS has been very "Mama only!"-clingy lately and while I'm dealing with the usual mama-guilt of not being there for him, I am literally craving a snuggle with him tonight. I mean, I miss DH too, but I can't wait to go home and lay down beside DS for awhile, even if he won't be awake to know I'm there.

Tell me I'm not nuts?!

You are not nuts. I get that way sometimes too. So does DH.

Not crazy! This morning, DD said "But we didn't get to cuddle last night." So I told her that we did cuddle when I got home from work but she didn't remember because she was asleep!

My DS has been very mama-clingy lately too, but in the whiny, carry me around kind of way. I really crave cuddles with him and he is a squirmy, non-cuddly kid. I keep trying, but I rarely get my cuddles! I definitely don't think you are nuts!

More than ever, it seems like. I love it when DS1 asks me to snuggle and I love they way DS2 looks at me while we are snuggling. I crave it during the day when I'm at work and cant' wait to pick them up from school!

I wanted a kiss from my ds so badly that I walked down the hall to get one! He's such a sweetie, he gives me kisses on my cheeks when I hold him! (I'm super duper lucky and his daycare is in the school I go to, so he's literally down the hall!)

I'm getting my fill with the baby, as the toddler is so independent now that he'll refuse me! He gets home from daycare and I'll say "give your mom a big hug' and he'll decline. Gah! It just about kills me! But then other times he is extra cuddly and wants to give me lots of hugs and kisses.

Oh yes!!! Both DS and I love cuddles, and I really, really miss it when I am out of town (I travel a lot for work). Sometimes I will call home to tell him I am missing him, and he will say, "Ok mama! I am sending you big cuddles right now!" and he will hug and smooch the phone! I swear my heart grows two sizes whenever he does that

And you know? I often arrive home from a business trip well after everyone's bedtime (like, close to midnight), and more often than not, the first thing I do is go lay down next to him and give him a hug and a kiss and whisper "goodnight, sweet boy", even though he sleeps through the whole thing. I guess he'd never know the difference if I skipped this, but I'd sure know...

Yep! Ds and I have a cuddle time every night before bed and it's my favorite part of the night!
