yay! i remember when i was posting the first time i was thinking about going into the story but i just didn't have time and i remember thinking that it might cause issue because it was so brief and didn't fully explain what i was saying.

If I were in your shoes and didn't want to vax but felt I needed to, for an infant, I would do the MMR.

I wouldn't do DTaP because the pertussis is a-cellular and so the child can still transmit the virus. So for the baby, I would do it, but I don't see the point in vaccinating the kindergartener with it. I mean... let me rephrase that. We vaccinate. I do see the point, but it's for the older child. It won't protect another child.

So yeah, MMR (because as wonderfully as it ends for some people, measles sucks, it just does) and HiB because meningitis is (a) no fun and (b) easily confused with other things so the last thing you want with a feverish baby in the ER at midnight is whatever tests they run to make sure it isn't HiB!

I just want to point out that you cant vax a 2 month old with MMR. SO for her situation right now, she cant do that.

Studies also show that breastfeeding provides excellent protection against HIB.
