Queer Conceptions - September - Page 2

Quick hello

Hi, all. I'm on a quick mini-vacation in Orlando. My grandparents' 65th anniversary (!) party is this weekend, so my mom, DP, DD, and I snuck off for a few days in the Harry Potter Park in Universal Studios, and it is AMAZING! DD said that today was the most exciting day of her life.

I've been keeping up with everyone's ups and downs and am thinking lots of fertile and pregnant thoughts for you all! As for me, I was planning to test on Saturday, but I won't be able to get to a drugstore tomorrow and couldn't find my stash of hpts at my house (still not fully unpacked after the July move), so it looks like it will be Sunday, instead...if AF hasn't shown by then.

Btw, Max, we also have a room in our new house that is painted appropriately for a future nursery, but which is now our home office (or, it will be once I get it organized). We are certainly in the same place on that! I hope that doing the insems at the doc's somehow helps. I will say that our RE defrosts the swimmers much more gradually than we or our midwife ever did...maybe the doc's procedures could make a difference for you? s

Who else is testing soon?

My FF chart

Thanks Painefaria!

AmandaH - Wow, 65 years. That's amazing.

Max: Sorry for the disappointment.

AFM: Trying to decide whether I should test Monday which would be 11 DPO or Thursday which would be 14 DPO. My LP is usually 10-11 days. Of course this all depends on the appearance or non-appearance of AF.

solejean - Your chart is now linked to the first post. If you could edit your post and fix your link, take one of the http:// out everyone can link from that post

AHOPE - I am so jealous. We really want to go to the HP theme park. DS loves harry potter, almost as much as I do . Would a 4 year old have fun or should we wait?

AmandaHope- I can't wait to hear all about the Wizarding World and see pictures on FB In the spring DW and I had talked about going for Halloween but then decided we didn't want to spend that much money a couple months before the baby's birth.

Good morning all! A beautiful, cool fall morning here, with no school and a couch full of kitties. I really couldn't be happier.

AmandaH~ Actually, maybe I could be happier if I'd gone to the HP park with you. Wow! Do post a pic of something fun if you can, for sure. And to think that your weekend will end in a BFP makes it even better!

Scarlett~ How are the insems going? How many have you done so far? With all those follies and three sets of swimmers, I predict great things.

Solejean~ I'm always of the mind to test as late as possible, but I can't stand seeing the blank space. Best of luck to you!

Escher~ I think no news is good news. My success cycle, I had no symptoms of any kind, except for the implantation cramps. I think it bodes well.

Hmmmm, I've been up for three hours and I believe it's time for a nap...

Hmmm wrote a post earlier but it seems to have been eaten. The second insem didn't go that great this morning. My cervix was already closed pretty tight (but it never really opened like with normal cycles) and DP had a hard time getting the catheter in. Needless to say we were both flustered and now neither of us feel very good about it all. I'm thinking it's pointless to do te third insem now since it's already closed up shop. We got one iui 24 hours post trigger and one 36 hours post trigger.

What do y'all think? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like you covered your bases pretty well with those two insems... but would you lose the swimmers ? If so, I would go ahead for a third...

Happy Friday!

Scarlett: If you can send the last vial back, I would probably do that. You've gotten the spermies in there. Now it is their job to swim to the egg! If you can't send the last vial back, I would probably just toss it in as an ICI.

Gelly and AmandaHope: How are you not testing yet? I'm impressed by your self control. But I would love something to celebrate if you do decide to test!

No news from me. Does anyone have a QOTD to throw out there?

No dice

AF showed up this morning--early and unwelcome. Damn. I'm frustrated and disappointed, but I also know that this will happen. Eventually. Grr. So much for my pregnant by August goal. Now I'm focusing on pregnant by Halloween. Sigh. And my LP was only 10days, which makes me think that even though my 6dpo progesterone was fine, they'll want me to supplement next time. On the upside, the Harry Potter Park was incredible (though not appropriate/interesting for a 4-yr-old, I'm afraid, Painefaria). It truly felt like we were in the middle of one of the movies. Every last detail was artfully done. Amazing, really. And now I'm off to celebrate with family (including my preggers sister-in-law).... And once I'm home, it will already be time to start Clomid and get going on the next try. Sigh--again. Hope the other tww-ers get better news!

Thanks guys, I'm definitely going to send that last vial back. I'm having so much cramping I can hardly stand it. I've never cramped before with insems, but my uterus/cervix is *angry*. No fever, but really significant cramping.

Amanda-- we must have cross posted. SO SORRY that stupid AF showed up hoping you can still enjoy your mini vacay and rest up a little for next cycle. No fun. s
post #31 of 358
AmandaH: Sorry to hear AF arrived.

Scarlett: Ouch, I hope the cramping stops soon.

AmandaH~ SO sorry. So disappointing, then having to deal with it while on vacation, what an extra pain. It's also a bummer that the HP park wasn't good for the little one, but maybe you had fun anyway? I hope so. Onward and upward.

Scarlett~ I usually had cramping with my IUIs, so I wouldn't worry. Your uterus cramps a bit shoving the spermies toward the ovary that's popping out the egg, you're probably just feeling it a bit more this time. I think two is good, especially with all the follies. Fingers crossed!!

Oh, no--my DD is 8 yrs old, and it is perfect for her. She had an incredible time, even saying that yesterday was the most exciting day of her life. Painefaria had asked whether I thought it was appropriate for her 4-yr-old DS. All three of us had great fun!

AHope, i'm so sorry... i was really wishing this was it for you... thinking about you and sending love and light.
AmandaHope: I'm sorry. I know what a disappointment that is. Hopefully the celebration will be distracting.

Scarlett: It sounds like a good choice to send the last one back. Hopefully the cramping is getting all the spermies where they need to go!

Chiquitayy: I see AF found you too. I'm so sorry.

AmandaMom: Are you insemming this cycle?
AHope . Sorry about AF. We are coming into the perfect months for academic schedule conception, though...

Thinking of you all, and sending the best vibes ever...

Waiting to know

Holy temp spike batman. Happy to see that this morning. I'm feeling better this morning. I'm a little worried about the spermies going back because of Labor Day on Monday, hopefully they'll stay nice & frozen.

Guess I'm officially ready to be moved to "Waiting to Know". Happy Holiday weekend y'all.

Beastie-- That little heart is moving down your signature line at a great clip! YAY for 12 weeks!

You know, the month that it worked for us, the IUI's were a nightnare and hurt DP more than any other months... here is to hoping that a cramping uterus is a conceiving one !

AmandaHope... gee I'm so sorry thatr AF showed...

As for the 10 days LP, we were also worried about that when we started TTC and read in the Stephanie Brill book that vitamin B complex can help with alla spects of fertility, including that. DP's LP went from 10 days to 12 days the first month she started on a B complex vitamin. Perhaps that could help ?

Scarlett~ Yeah!! If the swimmers were in there and the temp spiked, that can't be anything but good. Fingers are SO CROSSED!!

AmandaH~ D'oh, I understand now. Glad you all had the best time!

Chiquita~ Ugh, so sorry. Onward and upward. xo

Escher~ Fingers crossed for you. Still having no symptoms? No news is good!

Nothing here~ another gorgeous day. The first football game at the university, soon town will be full of drunken sport fools. Time to hide inside!
