Gift ideas for a (soon-to-be) pg friend? - Page 2

I would not bring a non-pregnant woman a pregnancy related gift. You just don't know how easy or hard it will be for her to conceive & if it's hard something like that would be a heartbreaking reminder in the house.

Maybe a book about fertility?

Yet another vote for not getting a pregnancy or parenting gift.

Oh, as for BFing, I didn't like my breasts before BFing DS. No abuse or anything like that, I just disliked them - & I generally have a good body image, except I hated that part of me.

Well, after exclusively BFing DS 6 mos, him gaining LOTS of weight immediately, continuing until he totally independently self-weaned at 23 mos, I really like them. I'm so proud of what my boobs accomplished! It sounds so funny and I honestly NEVER would have thought BFing would have that 'side-effect' - but it really did. I can't believe what a drastic difference it made in the way I feel about my breasts - and it never occurred to me that this might happen!

So, just a little helpful story I wanted to share.

Just got back from my Colorado trip to visit my friend who is TTC. I was FLOORED when she said she was going to consider BFing for "six months, at least" because of the health benefits. I was SO happy. Of course she added that she wouldn't be doing it "forever" like I did...but whatever.

I didn't have time to get her anything before the trip, so I just ordered Taking Charge of Your Fertility to send as a thank you. Thanks for all of the ideas!
