Calcium supplements for allergic child??

My four-year-old DD and two-year-old DD have milk protein allergies. They drink enriched rice milk, but not nearly enough to get sufficient calcium. They take vitamin supplements that have little or no calcium. They eat a reasonably balanced diet, but still fall very short of enough calcium. What do I do??

Any calcium supplements I see are for adults and are probably not dairy-free. Help!

What about coral calcium or what about foods naturally rich in calcium?

I've never heard of coral calcium-- what is it?

As for calcium-rich foods, yes, I try to incorporate them as much as possible. And they eat veggies better than most kids, thank goodness. It still doesn't come close to the recommended amounts, though. There is only so much spinach a little one can eat.

I was hoping to find something to cover our butts on those days that center around pb+j's and buttered pasta.

Ah, you can always make spinach-mango smoothies. A good way to eat up that spinach. Or, you can try my favorite spinach dish:

Of course, spinach gets to be expensive if you buy it fresh.

Sesame tahini is rich in calcium too. Not quite a PBJ, but close.

Coral calcium is pure marine coral. Natural. That's about all I know... at least it's on the label of my Coral Calcium Supreme (Formulated by Bob Barefoot, 100% Pure Marine Coral from Okinawa Japan, highest grade 'marine coral'). It's supposed to be a good kind of calcium.
