11 month old - Time to get started?

My son is almost 11 months old and is a very mobile kiddo. He has pretty much mastered walking at this point. In the last couple days he has discovered how to take off his diaper and a few times has peed on the floor after doing this. Is this a sign i should get him some potties? We haven't been doing EC so i don't really know where to begin....i guess i just need someone to tell me what to do first....i also have a few questions.

Will starting to do EC cause him to wake more at night? I have heard varying opinions on this.

How do i go about doing this part time and out of the house, he seems very young to understand needing to wait...

we started late EC, early PL at 11.5 months. we still keep DD in diapers most of the time though, because really she only goes on the potty about 4 times a day. (though we could have her going on the potty more if we pushed it, we just figure keeping a relaxed attitude is more important then getting her to use the potty all the time. and we rent, so I can't really let her go diaper free because our carpet is white and I don't want to have to pay to replace it.) we started out by getting her a potty and offering when she gets up in the morning and after naps and before nap time. now that she has the idea she will lead us to the potty more often during the day. The main thing I found helped her get the idea as an older baby was for us to go with her. To a good extent it's just trying different things and seeing what works for you and your child.
