selective vax & school q's- share your experiences with me

My oldest daughter is 2 1/2. We have delayed and will only give selectively and slowly, but want her to start some school when she turns 3. I know we need to declare religious exemption, which means we can't disclose being selective.

to those who have done this, what has your experience been? Do you feel you were treated differently? Was your child treated differently? Did it feel odd "lying"? Anything else to share?

I don't feel ashamed for my choices but I don't want my daughter to suffer socially because of it.

I refused to allow my children on any of the vax registries, so the only people who know what shots they have had are myself and my pediatrician. When others ask if they are UTD with their vaxes I simply say no. I filed our exemption for my son, and when asked about it by his school I simply stated "We do not vax, here is our exemption form." For the most part, I don't think anyone at the school really knows or cares outside of the school nurse (who is a little afraid of me).

my worry is that this is a tiny little nursery school. It does interestingly say "a non-discriminatory program" ....

i was worried about it when i lived in rural nevada and it went REALLY well!! the pre-school teacher actually wanted me to do a presentation for the other parents that might not know the option was available. we had no problems or issues with it at all.

same for here in oregon, it's been easy peasy.
