Tested the suspected dairy sensitivity...bad idea.

So I have suspected that DS has a dairy sensitivity. DH and I both have issues with it, and I am practically dairy free anyway. I noticed whenever I would have a little ice cream or milk in my coffee, DS would be gassy and in a horrible mood. So I eliminated it, until last night. I had some pudding...and since this afternoon he's been in a hideous mood, cranky, gassy, etc.

So my question is, how long does it take to leave my system and his, since it's not an ongoing part of my diet? On kellymom it says that when there is a food you have eaten a lot of it will take days to leave your system, but I had about a 1/2 cup of pudding, and that's after weeks of no dairy. Also, I pumped some milk earlier...should I discard it? I hate to waste pumped milk, but I don't want to make DS feel sick either. How long until I can pump again?

Anyone have this experience? How long did it take for your DC to go "back to normal"?

It's going to depend on your system, your LO's system, and the how sensitive your LO is, I think. It was a couple of days for us, not as long as a week. But I don't have a great memory of it....

Don't toss the milk just yet, my DD seems to be much less sensitive now that she is aproaching a year. You might be able to use it in a few months.
