Newborn clothing and EC

I started EC with my DS when he was 1 1/2 months old. We did it part time with diapers until 4 months when we stopped buying diapers all together. I am pregnant with #2 due in March and intend to EC from birth full time. I was wondering what types of clothing did your newborn wear/ pants/ undies/ bare? I am not sure what I should buy clothing wise this time around.

Thanks in advance

I find naked to be easiest, with a prefold tucked between the legs or a diaper when a newborn since they pee every 10 min... aside from that, I like dresses because they don't get in the way of ec. or a shirt with no bottom. if it is winter, lots of people like the ec leggings...

Thanks for the welcome!

I am due in March, intend on having an unassisted birth at home, so we will be finding out the gender on delivery day. I didn't know they had ec leggings, I'll look into that. Thanks!!

I like t-shirts with bare legs in summer, long-sleeved shirts with pants or EC pants in winter. I got a million onesies as hand-me downs and never used them...too much work to change the baby's every time we woopsed!

FWIW I really do not like EC leggings. They seemed way too tight around the top, even with my not very chunky baby. She didn't seem to mind them but I didn't like the marks they made at all.

I am asking myself the very same question. I am thinking any kind of clothing that will be easy and quick to get on and off, just like you would normally want for a diaper change. The cheaper the better then I can buy lots of pants in case of accidents! My baby is due in January and it will be expensive (and uncomfortable for the rest of us) to heat the house warm enough for a newborn with a bare bottom. So clothing is going to be a necessity, with or without a diaper underneath. Although to be honest I probably won't be brave enough to do a lot of diaper free time till we are pretty good at catching poops.
As the baby gets bigger and I need to get a new size of clothing I may find that I develop preferences... we'll see. I read that they start holding pee for longer periods between 3-4 months old and that is when I will probaby get more serious about keeping baby dry and changing after every pee.

Thanks for your input! I never had any kind of special clothing with my DS and we started at 1 1/2 months. Luckily, my due date is in March and I live in Nevada so I will probably just use shirts. I will not use onsies because the snaps in the genital area are not a good idea without a diaper. I guess just some shirts and loose pants (if/when we go out). Or I was actually thinking baby legs might work too if it is cold.

However, if you already have onesies or are given them, you can just cut off the bottom to get t-shirts.

When using diaper backup, I really liked footed pants for winter. Something where you can just pull down pant and diaper at the waist for a potty unity and then back up again.
