Sooo, I was thinking this is perfectly normal, and then mentioned it to my mom (5 kids) and my sister (1.5 kids- #2 is just a week old) and they thought it was really weird.
Vivi is obsessed with chewing on metal. She's teething hard- both top-center and bottom-outside toothers, and has a definite preference for hard and/or techie objects (I think bc she's allowed to have practically anything that isn't electronic, so they've become the forbidden fruit) but she REALLY likes chewing on metal.
I mean, like, a LOT. To the point where she likes to crawl into the kitchen, lean her face down and chew on the metal AC vent. I started throwing her a hooded sweatshirt with a zipper for her lunatic needs, thinking that if it hurts, she won't do it.
Should I be more proactive in discouraging this? Her diet is fine- breastmilk primarily and a wide range of solids. I'm pretty happy to let her do whatever she feels like doing (obviously to an extent) but is this really bad and/or weird?
Thanks!
