DD is 3 months old and has been a good sleeper (in the swaddle) since birth. I still swaddle her for naps and she does very well but the swaddle is becoming a problem overnight. She starts out on her own in our bed swaddled and does fine. I move her to the co-sleeper still swaddled when I go to bed and she continues to sleep just fine. She wakes up around 2am to nurse. I take her out of the swaddle, nurse, burp and change her diaper. I swaddle her again and bring her into the bed with me where she sleeps for the rest of the night.
Lately, about an hour after nursing she starts struggling against the swaddle. If I take her out of the swaddle she won't sleep well, constantly waking herself up with her hand in her face/mouth/eyes/etc. If I leave her in the swaddle she grunts and struggles on and off until I give up and take her out of it. She never cries or gets upset but she isn't resting comfortably.
When is it time to stop swaddling and how do you do it?
