Does anyone know why a temp would keep rising?

Every day since O, my temp has gone up. No staying the same, no dip, just an increase each day. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? I'm temping at the same time every day, sleeping at least three hours prior to temping, etc. I must have looked at 8 billion charts on FF and don't see any like it and the Internet has not been my friend in trying to figure out the cause.

Any ideas?

Here is my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2e84fd

I really don't know what would cause that, but it's a pretty neat looking chart! If I were you, I'd wait a few days to see what the future temps hold. If they stay as high or go higher, I'd test just to see if that might be it. Good luck to you! Hopefully your temps will stay like that for the next nine months...

A pregnancy can make your chart look like that. !

if you have a cheap test, i might use it tomorrow. temps rise because of progesterone. progesterone rises sometimes just because that's your normal, or just because that month you've got a hearty corpus luteum, or.... just because you've got a blastocyst in the process of implanting and it's kicking out hcg which is causing your progesterone to ramp up! my last cycle chart jogged up at 9 dpo, and i tested and it was +. it is hard when you hang your hopes on a good looking chart though, because sometimes a great chart is just a pretty chart and nothing more. but sometimes it's more. good luck!

Uhm, that chart looks triphasic to me... It looks like it went up to a stable level on 4dpo and stayed around the same then jumped again on 7dpo, which is a typical early triphasic start. I would be testing FOR SURE tomorrow morning! Good luck, hope this is it!

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm just baffled because I can't find any charts that resemble mine. I didn't know if it means the hormones are doing more this month than past months or if temps rising like that is an indication of a problem of some sort. I had an HSG done just a few days before ovulation, so I wasn't sure if maybe that could be playing a role at all. As for testing, I'm trying to be strong and not do it! I have an appointment with my OB on Tuesday afternoon to discuss lab results and starting clomid and he ordered bloodwork including HCG and Progesterone to be done Tuesday morning, so I'm trying to hold out for that! But, I'm a little concerned that it's not a pregnancy because there is no implantation dip, even though I know they say it's not necessary.

Your chart is considered triphasic right now. It could be an indication of pg or it just could be a really strong follicle producing a lot of progesterone. Only time will tell.

Check out my chart on my homepage... I never had an implantation dip with my DD and it went triphasic. A little differently then your's but what you are seeing actually is a REALLY good thing. An implantation dip actually doesn't happen THAT often... your chart is doing what it's supposed to be doing.

I think it is a fairly normal looking chart. Anything can cause temps to rise or fall...it is jsut whatever your hormonal pattern is. Triphasic doesn't automatically mean pregnant...but it doesn't rule it out. Only time will tell!

My temps dropped this weekend. At first I wondered if it was because we were travelling and where we were staying was FREEZING. Then we got home and my temp dropped again and I've had some spotting. Today, my temp went back up. I'm almost positive I'm not pregnant as the urine tests have been negative. Is it normal for the temps to drop, then go back up this close to AF? I'm officially due for AF on the 10th, so does it mean the temp is a fluke and will drop again when it starts? I've been charting for a few months and have just never had a chart look like this. Usually once the temp drops, it continues to drop.

How long is your luteal phase usually? According to your chart, it looks like you're 15 DPO... for me, that would be unusual, since my LP is usually only 12 or 13 days. And your temp is still well above the coverline.
I don't know what to tell you, but I wouldn't count you out yet based on that chart. Keep us posted on how it turns out!

Good luck!

Gale, for a temp drop to be significant it would need to go close to, or below, the coverline. Your drop was nowhere near the coverline! As the pp said, 15dpo with no AF can be pretty uncommon. What kind of test are you using? Some can be more sensitive than others.

Your pee tests are negative? Hmmm... That sure looks like a pregnancy chart, and I've heard many stories of BFPs immediately after those HSG tests. I hope you're just a late tester and you have a little life snuggling in for the log haul!

My LP runs from 14-17 days normally. I'm on day 15 with this cycle. I have done one test at 10 dpo with CBE, one at 11 with a dollar tree test and the OB did one yesterday (not sure which brand). I also had a blood test done yesterday, but the results weren't available at the time of my appointment. I'm assuming since they didn't call today, the result was negative (I had the blood draw in preparation for a biopsy, but ended up not having the biopsy, so the result wasn't really important). I had more spotting today as well. So, I'm about 99% sure it's not pregnancy. I'm just worried the spike back up today is going to delay AF and my cycle will be even more out of synch. Last month I was super stressed with school and my normal 30 day cycle lasted 42 days - but my temp dropped and stayed low for the 12 days before AF actually started.

my charts did that some. my pregnancy chart definitely did that, but a few of my other charts did that too until af showed.
