Cotton pants for 16m?

I am needing some more cotton pants for 16mo DS. I LOVE the kind below, and we have a couple that are now too short, but the price has gone way up to $17 a pair which is so much. They are roomy for his CD and very comfy.

Do you have any sources for other cotton pants that are less $ in solid colors?

Have you looked at just plain Carter's stuff? I have a girl, so they're all kinda ruffely, but I know they have some up to at least 2T, and you can find them at most any kids consignment shop for a couple of bucks.
If you sew at all, you would be able to get at least one pair of pants like that out of an adult sized t-shirt, too.

We liked these: http://store.americanapparel.net/4032pac.html?cid=44 . Also made in America but I would order up on the size to fit the cloth which we didn't use then. The cut is slimmer in the waist.

best would be Zutano which has a generous cut Their solids are less expensive and wear well. http://www.comfykid.com/cgi-bin/ck-s...8&groups_id=95

Usually Sears, Target, Kohls, JC Penney all have pants on this idea. I think most of the ones we have are Carter's brand. I love them, DS wears them to bed every night (he wears shorts during the day, it's HOT here!!)

Old Navy?

i'd 2nd carters. They carry some pants that are a little roomier, its hard to explain but basically the legs are staight sewn like most pants the croth area has like an 1 to 1 1/2 of material in the middle which is really nice to fit for CD bulk in the butt/crotch area.

ds wore carters cotton pants too, they were great for a fluffy cd bum.

We do have a couple pairs of carters and I have liked them. I was hoping for some more color variations than what they have, but I should at least get some navy, tan, brown and grey.

zutano, they can be a good deal if you find them used, they're about $14 here - prints are more, there are leggings too for a little cheaper.

not a great deal new, but if you find them second hand they can be a steal and they hold up really well. the pants at least are fairly roomy in the backside, not sure about the leggings

Carters & Old Navy. Also scout ebay and local consignment stores.

I pretty much only buy DD's clothes at local consignment stores (where I get credit for trading in stuff that is too small) and--even better-- at garage sales. I rarely pay more than $1 for an item, and often less, and I and pretty selective and able to get all cotton, organic and brands like Gymboree and Hanna Anderson. Plus, there's the added bonus of (hopefully) having some of the flame retardants washed out. Those chemicals are quite nasty.

H&m!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE THE BEST ANSWER IN THE THREAD!!!

Okay, maybe not the best but I think it's up there!!!!

We went to H&M today, and they had these sweatpants for $4.95. ORGANIC COTTON and super thick, and super super roomy. Drawstring and pockets, even!

Check them out. H&M Runs big, IMO.

They also had Organic l/s striped tees for $4.95

I love h-&m's kid clothes! They are the only clothes that the age size actually matches my kid. Every other brand he wears a 5 or 6 but h&m he wears a 3!(he is 3)
