Someone Please tell me what to do - At wits end

I have absolutely no help...no services offered, except handwriting...

DS2 is so picky...here is what I served for dinner...
Ortega taco kit seasoning in ground beef.

I gave him his meet in a bowl with some cheese on top of it, and the hard taco shell on the side.

Here is what he has eaten of it..1/3 of the shell and about 2 bites of the meat.

He has been diagnosed with anemia.

On the list of foods that have lots of iron in them, there is only 2 he will eat...peanut butter and pasta (mac n cheese). I cannot afford to go buy the iron enriched/fortified foods..I am struggling as it is to put food on the table.

I am fairly certain that he will not tolerate the liquid iron for the taste...

All I get, except from the Dev. Peds is "picky eater", they come back with sensory integration issues.

I sat here and watched him. He barely put enough meet on the tip of the spoon to fit in a baby spoon, then he would pick off a few grains of the meat and cheese.

Both of my kids are picky eaters. My DD has sensory integration and her pickiness was a result of it. Is your DS getting OT? Our OT did a food group with the kids to create a playful environment to work through the sensory issues associated with food. I saw huge progress after the first few sessions. If you can't get OT, you can do the same thing at home. If it is something you are interested in, let me know and I'll give you an explain of how food group works.

Would you be able to put a liquid iron supplement in a smoothie or milk shake? My DS was anemic but he really liked the liquid iron supplement we used. I'm not a big fan of them but the flintstone's with iron are a hit with some kids.

As far as I know, Molasses has a lot of iron in it.

And I think it's sweet..?

He might take a spoonful.

Also, give with Vit C it will help with iron absorption.

I think.
