Calorie count to lose weight while breastfeeding

Hi mamas!

How many calories do you need to have to not compromise your milk supply?
I have low milk supply, and take domperidone.
I am eating very healthy, no sugar, vegetarian, but the weight is still on.
Pre pregnancy I was around 156, now 180(5'11). Topped out around 215 pregnant.
I want to be fit again, nothing fits....my baby doesn't like stroller rides for longer than 15 mins and its far too hot for the sling now...I don't want to leave him to go to the gym.
I want to lose but not my milk!
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Honestly, I don't think I would mess with cutting calories if I was having supply issues. Can you do weights? Maybe converting to lean muscle will help?

I have low supply as well and have been losing on 1800 per day with basically no exercise. I pump at work so I can keep an eye on my output and it is unchanged through the weight loss.

Thats great that your supply has maintained.

I ate about 1200 to 1500 a day and still had a pretty good supply, even with exercising. And that was from 2 til 3.5 months PP. I probably should have waited til my milk was more established, and gone a little easier on myself. But it does go to show what your supply can survive. I think if you make sure a lot of your calories are from protein that will help.

I wouldn't cut calories. I would make sure my diet is as clean as possible and workout but not cut the amount. On the diet I would look at excessive fruit, grains and such and focus on lots of green leafy for vegetables and low-glycemic for the fruits.

But if she wants to lose weight she has to take in less calories than she burns...

This is me too almost EXACTLY! I really wish I could get back to 150-155 or so. I think I may be around 170 right now, I'm 5'11 also.

I eat vegitarian, and healthy, but its just being really stubborn. I'm too freaked out to cut calories and comprimise my milk. I think I'm just stuck at this weight for now, so I'm trying to at least tone myself up a bit. I figure if I cant be smaller, I'll at least get myself stronger and less mushy
