Weve been trying for a week! After a week of the strong contractions Id had it. Today was going to be my drastic move with sweeping membranes! But obviously nothings working.

And it sucks so bad because I KNOW my dates are right on, due to charting.

I feel so broken.

DH suggested castor oil after the sweep... but if my bodys not ready for a sweep, castor oil wont do a thing.

Mae I just wanted to chime in here. Although I've never had a non-induced labor, try not to get too discouraged yet. I keep having it repeated to me that 42 weeks is not "late" and the more time she's got to bake the healthier she's going to be. It just sucks that you're miserable Keep doing what you're doing, and try not to stress about it (I know, easy for me to say), because stressin' won't help anything. Try to relax, and get some massages from your DH, I'm sure he'll be happy to oblige

Oh, and PS- My m/w just called. Urine culture came back with a helluva UTI. She put me on Cipro 2x/day for 12 days. She also prescribed Promethazine because I am now having a hard time even keeping liquids down. So far it seems to help. I don't know if it's just a placebo effect or not, but at this point I really don't care. Vomiting sucks. Anyone know if this UTI can harm the babies at this point? Apparently I've had it for several weeks 10 weeks 3 days today.

UTIs are so dangerous because they become kidney infections that can cause preterm labor. If you aren't in labor, you and babies are still fine

Whew! When I googled that's pretty much what I came up with too, I just needed some reassurance. My doppler arrive today (or so says fed ex tracking) so it should be sitting on my doorstep when I get home. I'll give you guys one guess as to what I'll be doing tonight!

ETA- MAE You're being paged on the TTC board

What Mae said..

I have CHRONIC Utis... as in is there EVER a time I don't have one? And if they cause kidney infections then it can start contractions.. but if you have no pain in your side, then you don't have a kidney infection.. seriously, I don't feel utis.. but kidney infections kick my butt. Like I can hardly go up or down stairs when i have one.

Have you tried infusions? I did nettle infusions (which no kidding, taste like corpse water), and cranberry tablets daily.

Happy due date, Mae! You have done a most excellent job fully cooking that sweet girl, and I'm sending all the "come out, baby!" energy I can muster your way, today. I really hope little Mae joins us on the outside very soon!

Horrible contractions again today... woke up at 130 this morning with them...

To celebrate my due date I bought a sling gift set (purple sling with tan stars, tan baby leggings with purple stars, and a bracelet that matches the sling)

About to go out shopping (for some EPO and a ton of groceries we need... mostly for walking at midwives orders lol)

Nettle Infusions? Can I find those at whole foods or Chamberlain's? What section are they in? She told me to take cranberry tablets daily, and also wanted me to go get some papaya enzyme for the MS. I just haven't gotten my butt down there yet. I'll try it though, I've been reading about them, and they say if you get one there's a good chance you'll get another at some time during the pregnancy

Yep. I had 4 in the first tri with Mae... once I started cranberry pills and hitting the water like I just got out of the desert, I stopped getting them.

With DD I had countless ones throughout the pregnancy but never tried cranberry pills/more water. Was hospitalized twice towards the end because of preterm labor from them turning into a kidney infection (it started going away after the 26 week visit and I stopped taking my pills too soon! NOT a smart idea!)

How funny, I used to work at the Winter Park Whole Foods (Part of the team that opened it actually) and had to go to Chamberlains all the time when I later was a sales rep. Of course I'm out of that area now and back down south.
Anyhooo I just realized that if I get preg this cycle the baby will have the same DD as DS did! (He was a little over a week late, but whatever, it's still cool!)

3 days and I will be the most pregnant I have EVER been.

I am convinced my body has forgotten how to work.

We had our position scan last night, and Cadence has her head down! Yippeee!

I have my weekly MW appointment today; I'm hoping she'll say the babe is at least a little bit engaged so I can feel more confident that she'll stay that way.

So happy and just had to share the good news w/ you all.

Oh, and here's a pic!

Hi Ladies,
I'm not even going to pretend that I was able to catch up. I totally missed the August Thread, I think. Maybe I popped in to see that CBW had her baby, but that's about it.
Anna, DH and I are doing well. she is SO big now, growing well with my turbo mommy milk I guess. she's gained 4 lbs in 8 weeks and 5 inches in height (though I dont know how accurate the measurement of a scrunchy newborn really is...)
Anna is napping by herself upstairs right now, for the longest stretch EVER so far. I may have just jinxed myself. she usually can only fall asleep in my arms, or laying in bed with us at night.

we're co-sleeping, CDing during the day (and I do it at night, but DH doesnt for some reason that I dont fully understand since he doesnt do the laundry, and it doesnt get much easier than BGs!) we are using sposies when we go out bc i havent yet ordered a wet bag, and feel guilty doing so since i have all this PUL (but its a PITA to sew and I dont really have time to sew these days!)

she is BFing like a champ still, and it's working well. due to her underdeveloped digestive system coupled with insane oversupply on my end, we had a bout with some lactose intolerance for Anna, but now she's doing much better. crushing up lactaid every time before nursing was a HUGE pain. we're all much happier now that my supply is normalized and her belly is feeling better. I'm still mostly avoiding cow dairy, save maybe one tiny piece of good cheddar every 4 days or so. i miss cheese and cereal with milk. all worth it, since she is feeling sooooo much better without it. baby probiotics are also really helping her immensely. thanks to some mamas at MDC for recommendations on brands.

some photos are here this might work...? if not, i will upload a few key ones to photobucket.: she is super cute if I do say so myself. we might be partial.
if anyone is on FB, i could share, they are posted there...
our camera is still being a so they are not all that great.
not looking forward to going back to work in 1.5 weeks. . seriously, I have NO idea how we will get to that horrible schedule. right now, A and I sleep till 10 since she is a little night owl. putting her down at 730 means nothing, she'll still be wide awake at midnight. ha! i have about 10 days to get things under control, or I'll not make it 1 week getting up at 530AM for work as I'll have to do..... uuuugh.

found out at my PP appt that my MW thought the Csection was "hasty" and "maybe not necessary." WOW. thanks for being my advocate there, as you said you would be.... I lost my dream birth for nothing. turns out I didnt have the chorio amnionitis after all, it was some other(still unidentified) infection. MW suspects I would have responded to tylenol to reduce fever, and iV atbx for the infection. UGH. said labor probably would have stopped, and i could have had a FSBC birth in a week or so. wow. it's like i got run over by a train, since I'd just come to terms with the fact that I'll never have the FSBC birth that I worked for and wanted so deeply. at this point, i will start what the best protocol is for preparing for a VBAC, and thinking about home birth... i feel robbed and really sad about it. reading all the beautiful birth stories in my DDC was just hurting, like a raw wound. and all anyone IRL had to say was "at least the baby is healthy." well, i think that's obvious, but i guess i dont count for anything?! OK, my pity party over. I am so happy, blessed, excited and over the moon delighted to have our little girl here. she makes everything better.

I am so excited to see some new and returning mamas posting in this Sept thread!!!! Congratulations mamas!! oh- and TWINS Nanette?!?!?!? YAY!
I think i'll be better able to keep up once I'm back at the office. (isnt that terrible?!)

Hope everyone with babes in arms, and those still waiting are doing fantastically! I think of you all often!!!!

OK, A waking up now. hope those pics work!

I'm so glad you're having such a wonderful time with baby Ana and everything's going so well with the BFing and CDing! I could not see the pics because I don't have a shutterfly account, guess I should get one, cuz I wanna see!!! And yep it is twins. Crazy stuff huh? I'm sorry you have to go back to work, but selfishly kinda glad so you will pop in here more often!

AFM- Wow, this medicine is like a wonderdrug. Only slightly nauseous if I take it at least once a day! I managed to find one of the babies heartbeats last night on the doppler! I only had to search for about 15 minutes, because I had an idea of their whereabouts. At first, all I could hear was my HB and the swishing sound, but then I heard the fast thumping (I listened to YouTube for a while to make sure it really was the heartbeat). I shouted for DS, and he heard it, and then said "that's cool mom, but I'm watching Bolt" so much for the excitement I was expecting When DH got home we were able to find it again so that he could hear it. Such a comforting sound!! Hopefully I'll be good enough to find them both sometime in the future. I don't like harassing them though, so I think I'll only be checking in on them once a week...

Thanks!!! Any day, indeed! I'm starting to feel a lot of pelvic pressure and pressure in my lower back; I wonder if it means anything.

Appointment yesterday went well. Negative for GBS (yay!) and baby's heart rate sounds good. BP is normal, and I'm only up 21 lbs since 6 week appointment! Not too shabby!!! We decided not to check me, because (although I'm curious) it wouldn't really tell us anything, anyway. I don't need to know how much or how little "progress" my body is making. Lol.

Nanette56 - So cool you found one of the heart beats! Yay! Sometimes I really wish I had a doppler at home so I could listen whenever I wanted to.

LZP - super glad you checked in, and I'm so glad to hear things are going well! Sucks that you go back to work soon... hopefully knowing you've got that sweet girl to come home every day will make the 9-5 hours bearable. I'm already dreading going back to work, and I haven't even left to have the babe yet! Lol.
