Avid nurser did yours wean fast or slow?

My DD was 2 in June and nurses most of the day and night. I have a feeling that when she weans it will be very sudden (which will sadden me to not have time to mentally prepare).

So if you had a very frequent nurser did they wean fast or did they slowly drop nursing until you almost (or didn't) notice when they were weaned?

I know every child is different but I am curious what other experiences have been.

Th only one of my three that is weaned did so slowly , over the course of my third pregnancy and shortly thereafter.

Mine weaned slowly at age 6 after two pregnancies. I was nursing three (including her) when she stopped so I had not been doing unlimited nursing--I would often ask her to wait. At the end she'd ask every few days.

Thanks ladies that is making me hopeful that she will wean slowly and hopefully no time soon. She does have to wait at times as well, so I can wash off my hands and such but it is mainly on demand still. And the demand is crazy often lol.

my older two wened suddenly, but i was pregnant at the time. they were "avid nursers" for sure.
